Yuri Is Life!

….Oh My!

So, Imma just back from watching Breaking-

cant stop laughing

That’s alright, laugh all you want! But with a review LIKE THIS, can you really blame me for biting that bait?

Didn’t think so.

On that note, if you want a 100% take on the movie, honestly the best review of this movie you will ever read, now that I have actually seen it, this is the review you want because I am not going to even talk about the whole thing…NOPE!

All I am discussing is what caught my eye. Sorry, not mentioning but, you know, reporting…bulleting style!

  1. Janella

Bd2-jan THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN-PART 2

To those who actually have seen this movie, did you also note the tension between Jane and Bella on the battlefield? I was like, holding my breath and everything and having Runaways flashback when their eyes frikking met in a kind of mental sexual intercourse or somet….

Okay, okay, let me say one thing about this movie.

In the beginning, the screen is stamped with a 12 rating, 12! The cinema is filled with preteens and tens and all around teens!

Ten minutes or so in?

Frikking sex scene!

Something boring minutes in?

Lighting kids, children, to be precise a child of 4 or 5 years old, on damn fire! And he was smiling like an angel (of death) just before merciless Jane threw him in the infernal! More boring minutes further, Marble gore and violent head ripping!

I swear to God I don’t even….!

Ahem

Getting back to the subject at hand….I am off doing a search on the net for all the Jane/Bella fics out there!

Totally sparked my inner shipper, they did!

Speaking of ships….

2. Amazoness Duo (No pun intended)

Something about them is making my radar spike off the screen size!

And they got speed! My favourite power ever! Okay they are on the Phoenix level of power (XMen) but they were damn faster than other vamps, even Eddie-boy.

3. Alice, Alice ALICE!

Everyone wants Alice!

Alice-mathaphakin-Cullen reverse scissor-cut Aro like a frikking Boss!

Angelic Alice made Jane piss her robes and even turn tail and run!

Goddess Alice fuckin saves the day yet again just like every other goddamn time the Cullens are in trouble and it’s always Edwards damn fault!

I swear to you guys that I don’t even want to think of where the Cullens would be without Alice! I know but I don’t want to think about it! That would be disrespectful to team Jacob and Edward!

FSSST

Team Jake and Edward…please!

Alice has done all the damn heroic things since frikkin day one and does she get any thanks to saving their precious sparkly in the light lives?

NOPE!

4. CGI Baby!

I couldn’t stop laughing at that baby (and everything else really but mostly)! Did the real one even ever appear? I can’t tell, due to the fact that I watched three quarters of this movie with only my ears!

Yes. You read that right.

5. The cinema experience!

You know, to those who ask why go to cinemas with teh internets in the palm of my hands, to thee I say that there are some things you will never forget in cinemas. For example the reactions of the audience!

And damn did BD2 get reaction!

Yes, REACTION!

As in 1!

UN-CONTROLLABLE LAUGHTER!

Laughter in a movie that is not a comedy!

I swear not even the funniest movie gets the amount of laughter that boomed around the cinema during BD2!

I am guilt as charged too BYW!

THAT IS ALL!

Kamikaze Girls [JMovie]

Kamikaze Girls/Shimotsuma Monogatari 下妻物語

Fukada Kyoko as Momoko Tsuchiya Anna as Ichiko (Ichigo)

Ah Kamikaze Girls…

Such a typical J-movie that comes out of seemingly no where to become a favourite. These kinds of movies are rare but Japan somehow always comes up with one every year. I can so totally name these lucky hits since 2000 if I wanted to.

This movie was released in 2004 and seeing its popularity, perhaps there are some of you that wonder why I have not talked about it until now. Well, there may be good reasons like me only coming across it just now (not true), did not have enough yuri to warranty a mention (also not true, well, partly not true) or maybe I was simply being a butt and simply not mention it. I mean there are plenty of movies I have yet to discuss but still.

Stranger still was that even the release of the BluRay not too long ago did not motivate me to re-watch it and discuss. So, why am I mentioning this now?

Well, I do value you dear Readers’ thoughts so when I was asked to say my thoughts on this movie (via tumblr) I figured, I already have it in my possession which means that it can’t be all that bad if it over-came trashing, so I whipped it up in queue last night and re-watched it in glorious HD.

Awesome scene, Meh movie

This is Korean contribution named ‘Wet Dreams 2’.

Now, before you go jumping in joy asking for source, remember the title for this post.

Don’t follow? Well this here scene though very temptingly delicious, the overall experience was not of satisfaction. First of all the movie itself couldn’t have been far away from a yuri-themed movie.

Secondly, though they tried to play it incognito by throwing in the Brainy Smurf twist, it came off as complete waste! The movie is mostly about three best pals and while the other two actually get their love side of things explored to a point of understanding, the girl above was less so.

And so when the kiss suddenly appeared, then suddenly got forgotten, I was all kinds of, like, mad!

The movie does not tell us where the two stand after their kiss, nor did it actually have them interact before the kiss other than when the three friends went to Brainy Smurf for help.

I am disappoint Korea.

You get 5/10 for actually giving us a kiss (They are very rare) but fail at execution! It’s like I finally got an iPhone  – an iPhone 2.

Get me?

I Dream’d In A Dream

I Dream’d In A Dream

I dream’d in a dream is a short Chinese movie (or is it a tv show) that I stumbled upon by chance as I was boring my way through the internet.

Seriously though, this time if the year is just so quiet! I looked through the fresh season anime list and I came away with zero expectancy. In other words, no anime to pass the time on until next year. I guess this is a good thing…for my mother, because I may get higher grades in college for a change.

But really, this year started off with a bang and is still out there in overall output but the later months are kind of dead, aren’t they? Times like these are when I go back and appreciate all those gems I already have through re-watch. But after all, one just needs a new flavor from now and then and so I was raiding the internet for at least a yuri MV. This dropped me into yamibo where I haven’t been for like, years and wasn’t disappointed.

I came across a couple of MV and it was while I watched those that this recommendation came up.

“I dream’d in a dream’ is very light on the yuri and the new-comer may dismiss it at first as just another college student contribution to the woos of youthful life. Yes indeed it spends most of the time on the five friends doing what college students do best, partying, arguing and all that!

Of course to me, who had to get my goggles sewn directly to my skin, I was in ecstatic glee all half the hour the movie runs for.

I love movies that make my heart go all ‘kyun’ which thankfully happens to be most of the yuri movies, thanks to the BAD ENDs, disappointing ends and all the other not so great endings we have come to accept in our yuri movies.

Sometimes the ending doesn’t have to be a BAD END to ignite heart-twists. Sometimes it’s the ‘TOO LATE’ card that gets us and it is so in this case. Throughout the time they are together, the two are quite physical and one looking on from the outside can easily question their relationship. But did they themselves acknowledge the other’s feelings or even attempt to confess theirs? The answer is a big NO.

Of course this is the typical route that most of us in real life take either from fear of rejection, fear of the outside view of us or simply just…fear. And thinking that this short movie wanted us to know the hard-ships of youth, they stuck to the realistic and so the two don’t realize each other’s feelings until it’s too late.

Well, it wasn’t that late actually. It wasn’t like a decade passed or that one of them kicked the bucket. No, it was only a year later and both were still alive and kicking but probably just graduated and gone their separate ways. This means that if they were such great friends, surely they kept in touch or had each other’s contact details, at least an address, so if it’s only a year later they could surely get back in touch…surely.

But of course we never get this, or they never thought of it but we all know how stories sacrifice things for plot bunny.

The movie is in Chinese since I stumbled upon it on youko, and of course the subs were Chinese as well (>_>’) So I didn’t fully get what was going on but I have watched enough to read in context and from what I understood;

These five friends (three girls and two boys) one day exchange notes/letters on one of their nights of binge drinking and they might have decided to not read these notes until after a year has passed or something because that’s what happens. And so a year later, we start hearing each of the friend’s confessions and in there we learn the truth.

Again I apologize (damn, maybe I should take Chinese language classes) for not understanding Chinese so I didn’t get the names but though one of the girls was so obvious in her feelings (The tomboy one, of course) we never really know for sure about the other one. She came off as the typical friendly girl that their friends fall for but never truly is interested. But get this, when we get to her note, which fatefully went to the other girl (the tomboy) and it had only three sentences on it;

I love you (Wo Ai ni)

I love you

I love you

Those three lines made me feel all kinds of funny on the inside. It was like they were written to me personally and in fact they are the ones that made me write about this in the first place.

I don’t really know why. I was just so hit hard by this revelation. There was something about it that…I just can’t explain it. I mean after all the screwing around of the previous minutes, this scene at almost the end just got to me. I couldn’t stop thinking about it even when I went to bed. I just…I don’t know.

Do watch it if you can and maybe you can enlighten me dear Readers…

PS: Sorry for the bad quality.

Be With Me [Si-Movie]

Be With Me

If there ever was a movie with so many feels, this is it!

Perhaps the only reason it isn’t perfectly rated (all ratings are over 7) it is because there is just too much feels! It is one of those silent movies that I love so much! They are silent and yet so very attention demanding. The feelings are very raw without being played upon by creepy and moody BGM!

It is basically a story about love at each generation and it actually has more than two stories (couples) to tackle but their stories are kind of linked in together that even though I was very tempted to scroll through to the yuri parts, I couldn’t help but hover my hand over that scroll button.

Different stories, different circumstances but one movie.

But be that as it may, I am only going to focus on the yuri part.

By the end of this movie, I was blowing into my sleeves like a sissy because, my God!

No, no, don’t start panicking, yet.

It’s not that kind of a BAD END. Both are still alive at the end of the movie. and only one man might have died though we didn’t see the corpse so he might be in the hospital or something. Though I doubt it.

So no. No deaths where our yuri couple is concerned. But remember the tears? Well, let’s just say that death would have been better in this case.

Okay, now you can start panicking.
