Ai you bad bad girl >.<

Okay dear Readers, I am sure you all know that awesome feeling you get when the girl wins the girl in the end in the battle between sexes for a certain girl, right? You also know how rare that happens, right? I mean the last time that happened and it was a real deal was way back when Souma and all his cool main character act all but lost Himeko to Chikane! That feeling will forever be with me until the end of time! So you must imagine how I feel after all this time when another girl wins the girl. Then add in the awesome fact that the girl is none other than Hashimoto Ai!

So, the story is actually broken into two PVs of different songs by Omori Seiko. And by broken up I mean exactly that. The PV for the next song which is MIDNIGHT seijun issei kouyuu, takes off exactly where the first PV left off and gives us an ending that makes the Lord of the Rings series trilogies look like a joke! A perfect conclusion to a perfect series. I can call it series, right?

Any way, the first PV “Kimi to Eiga” picks up when Ai is meeting her boyfriend that she hasn’t seen in a long time. All this is just speculation obviously as I don’t know what the actually story behind the PV is as per usual song PVs but this is what I got from my own perspective. The way she greets him is the way people use when they haven’t seen each other is a while. Reasons as to why will forever remain a mystery but I will settle for Ai having moved away and has only been back to her home town.

They go on dates, do what people do on dates but OMG, is Dick boring as or hell or what?! Not to mention so not cool! How can you not bring money to your first date in a long time with your girl!? How can you frikking sleep on her when in a cinema?! How dare you flaunt your romance in front of your imouto? Now, granted he didn’t know of the secret his sister kept but still.

As for the sister thing, this is also another speculation. It is probably mentioned somewhere in notes but thee chances of me understanding what is written let alone find them is close to zero as per usual PVs. But unlike other PVs that try so hard to come off as poetic but giving the audience glimpses of what they mean in order to get away with ambiguity, the PVs in this case laid everything in a line for anyone to follow the trail if they wished. I so wished.

Anyone cold have come to the same conclusion seeing a young girl like Jun living with Dick just by themselves. Speaking of Jun, I had been seeing a lot of pics of her on tumblr the last couple of weeks but didn’t know what the big deal was. Turns out it might have had to do with these PV being released way back at the end of last year. Yeah, I am late again but in my case it’s always better late than never so I’m good.

Any way going back to the story, there is this thing in the air between Jun and Ai. It is most obvious from Ai’s side. She is very conscious of Jun’s presence and not only that, you can see that there is this pull in her she has towards the cute imouto and Ai is very attentive when Jun is around. Her eyes are like nails to a magnet when it comes to Jun. It is as if she is aware of how much hurting she is doing to Jun by being all love-dovey with her brother in Jun’s presence. But since Jun seems pretty guarded when it comes to showing her own feelings, it might as well be that Ai is only always watching her to see if would be hurt. I mean she is more interested in Jun than a delicious cake. that means a lot.

Then there was this scene when they are coming back from a date of some kind and Dick is all Ai showering her with affections and Jun is walking on behind them. Just like every other sister i would think, she goes by them for she did not want to see her brother being all gross, as they say, but maybe it was more than that. Maybe there was a reason why Ai froze when Jun passed by them and even pulled away from the hold to go after Jun. But of course she was stopped by Dick chaining her in his  chain prison that he calls an embrace.  At right that moment Jun finally turns around and the two lock gazes for the first time in the PV. Ai’s smile disappears instantly. She saw something in those young eyes.

A break-up message in the form of a dying message? Aiiiiiiiii

Things get pretty intense soon after when they get home that lead into Dick being dumped, literally out of his own house and given a dying message he shan’t forget. It all started when before going to bed, well, taking a shower then going to bed, Jun left a small portrait she had been doing of Ai there in the living room. Ai being all but in blinding love with Jun, of course would want to know what she had been up to. Hey Ai, that is private stuff. You are getting into creepy territory here.

Any way, Ai seems taken by the picture. Maybe Jun added a message on it too but we never see the finished product. Ai though stares at the paper like the secret to the Universe was on it. That is until Dick comes over to have some good time now that they were alone and takes the paper out of Ai hands.

Uh-Oh!

A break-up fight ensues soon after. I would like to think it was that little a thing that made Ai finally snap but Dick probably said something right then that might have had something to do with Jun that made Ai flip tables! The way the fight goes on and ends means that it was probably a long way coming really. Jun having finished her shower is greeted by this ruckus but probably hearing her name being mentioned or knowing deep down that she was the cause of the mess or just not caring that her douche of a brother was at the receiving end, she did not interfere, well, for a bit.

As Ai fights to kick Dick out and lock him out on the veranda so he can have some life speculations, it is when Jun comes over to help. She takes the stupid cake and buries it in his face! I guess it was his birthday cake. Ai fogs the glass door and write something on it then the two girls just sit there in the living room wondering what next. And as so, the first PV ends.

The second PV as I said picks up exactly where the first one left off. Ai and Jun are still in the living room. For the first time they are alone together, well, since Ai came back. Maybe they had been closer before she left, who knows. But you can see finally the happiness in their faces then as they play. They didn’t have those faces before. Especially Jun. Then soon after Jun runs off and Ai runs after her.

 
 
 

 
 
 
 

It in the park afterwards when Ai finds Jun that the awesome moment happens. Yes, this second PV seemed so fast. But everything is in the lyrics. For the life of me I couldn’t find a translated version of this but I will post the Japanese lyrics after this and if any one would be so kind. Those lyrics are really great. They tell more than the PV and even though I only understood a little bit, what I did made everything clear.

I understood how jealous Jun was and how much she had been waiting for Ai to finally ‘see’ her. I also understood how Ai had actually loved Jun already and how she wants her to look only at her with those big bright eyes. Going back to the scene, everything I feel was really perfectly done. Like the way that Jun, who surprised me by being aggressive when she grabbed Ai and pushed her on the ground to dominate her. I sure as hell did not think she had it in her.

Just as they gazed at each other, with Jun on top staring longingly down at Ai and Ai with the patience of an hungry lioness laying there, looking up at Jun, waiting…Then just as Jun opened her mouth to say THE WORDS, the PV did the only negative thing in an otherwise perfect PV. They did the sensor thingy! Yeah, you will know what sensor thing when you watch the PVs.  I mean it’s a PV so I doubt we would have heard she said had it been any other way anyway but still…

Okay since they didn’t stop there but actually showed us a follow-up scene, I totally forgive them and put the PVs back to perfection status! They way they laid there, holding hands, then Jun caressing Ai’s cheek lovingly, there is no doubt that she actually said it and that Ai accepted. And let’s not forget that awesome symbolism of Ai dressing up in those ages long gone manly clothes looking all manly with her short hair while Jun dresses up in those womanly clothes of ages long gone or what Japan calls Lolita fashion these days and I have myself a complete PV that satisfies me with nothing left to ask for.

So, not only did the girl win the girl in the end, that girl that won the girl was a 14yr old imouto of the guy that is the girl’s boyfriend. Also the girl that was won was none other than Hashimoto Ai. Um, can this PV get any better? I think not! If  I was an actual reviewer, and thus a rater, I would give this a 10.5 out of 9. No, you did not read that wrong!
