Baretta

Dear Nogizaka, please stap keep releasing cool PVs and awesome songs at the same damn time! If the PV was different from the song, it would be tolerable but for the song to be cool and the PV to match the coolness factor – that’s just overkill! I can hundle so much awesomeness before I break into hysteria due to happiness!

Nogizaka 46! just stole the end of the year for me hands down! I can’t think of how the 13th and 34th singles are gonna be able to beat this! They are obviously both gonna sell more than Baretta but they will not be as awesome as Baretta! SKE is already out from what I have seen of the preview. Yes, the elephants are awesome but that’s it! KFC already did the crowd thingie and the song…Well maybe Yasusu will pull out that rabbit he’s been storing in his hat for Jurina ever since she joined and we will have the single of the century now that she is centre finally but you know what they say – With great expectations…

With this single, the first topic to discuss is of course yuri.

I kid, it’s the new Centre – Hori Miona. I’m gonna talk these PVs using her as the focus.

 
 
 
 


 
 

What do I think of her? Well, she has the basics down – She is cute, young and her voice doesn’t disturb the nerves. She is also a quite laid back girl which is one of the traits I secretly adore but then again, Ikoma-chan started out like that too yet look at her now! She is like a kid high in puberty, which I guess she is but still.

And so Hori was a very obvious contrast to the rest which is because of her in-experience. You could just see it especially in the group dance shots. She is still hiding herself within which I know is normal but I think she did a pretty great job for being given such a responsibility after just recently joining. Yasusu made a good decision in her. Actually he seems to be doing a pretty great job when it comes to Nogizaka so far. Hmm…

Now as for her parts in the drama side of the PVs, I was left baffled with both of them to tell you the truth. In Baretta at first she seems just like another victim of the brain-washing, or whatever that Evil Lord was doing to them.  That’s what I thought was what was going on. But then that ending!

Okay, first of all she wasn’t the only one who was kidnapped! There were a good deal many other members yet we saw her do the thing! The thing that no other brain-washed member was shown doing. So what was up with that? And if I think of it carefully, she seems to have been the first one to be turned seeing as the Evil Boss trusted her enough to make her be the one to lure in other subjects.

But if that was the case, if she had been brain-washed, the how did she manage to send an SOS? It obviously wasn’t a trick to get the other girls to come and fall prey seeing as she feigned ignorance towards the guard. That means she was in the right mind then. So then what was the deal with that ending!?! From what we were meant to understand from it, she was either put down or she won that fight, which is very un-likely! She was by herself with only a pistol against a bunch of other members among which one had a frikking shot gun! She had to get past agent 004.9 Nanase too. If she got out alive, she had to be inhuman! Or a frikkin ninja but that was a concept for the other PV! Which means she was killed! BAD END!

 
 

Speaking of the other PV, I was even more lost with this one. I had constructed this story in my head where She was the Princess or some other important head of house, with Ikoma being a runaway ninja who found herself becoming the Princess’ guard. Then Mai being the other ninja who is the bad guy and who has come to kidnap the Princess, or kill her. She does a quick number on the other warriors in the Castle guard by buying off the freelancer Samurai (Captain) and then taking the noble Samurai’s woman (Ikuta) hostage thus forcing the Samurai into despair not being able to do anything. Now being the head of the ninja clan, the forces are under her command whom she orders to take care of the deserter.

But just as all stories ever told, the bad guy never wins which leads to the final show-down between Mai’s forces and the Guard lead by Ikoma for the Princess.

That’s what I was thinking the PV was about. Except all that went out in smoke when, you guessed it, the ending happens. Once again the stupid ending ruins everything! Then again I should have suspected something was up when I saw the Princess

pull the Katanagatari ‘cute girls are actually monsters in disguise’ shenanigans when she was chilling up on the roof like it ain’t no big deal! This time the ending was different from the first one. This time she P’OWN’d everyone, including the good guys, which confuses me to no end! Then again this makes it a bit similar to the other ending in that in both, she was a betrayer! For crying out loud, she even took out the ladies! Even Ikuta who was just being held hostage was not spared!

Now then, how about dat yuri in Tsuki no Ookisa tho?! Yes, I know Ikoma/Hori is questionable but even the official relationship chart itse’f has a frikkin triple ??? between the two which makes my mind grind the skull in thought! I mean look at them, even their clothes are shippable, totally shippable!

Then there is Wakatsuki-sama and Mistress Nanase! God Wakatsuki-sama! In both PV she totally OWN’d!

Not enough time in this PV! I needed to know what Waka-sama’s relationship with Mistress Nishino actually was! Damn it, all their PVs are too short! SHAKISM was the same too! Why Yasusu?! Y U spend less time on the awesome PV and instead give us an hour of snooze fest!

There was no delusions as to whom stole the show however. Nobel Samurai Hashimoto and Nadeshiko Ikuta were perfect with a cat purr! For some reason Ikuta’s character came off to me as those Ladies in distress that always seem to find themselves in trouble only to always be rescued by an Ikemen lead. Actually, that was what essentially was going on here. She got held hostage not once but twice! For PV length to be kidnapped more than once is a new record! By fear not for she has her own Knight, well, Samurai in robes. Look at them secretly sharking up in the dark alleyways under the full moon!

Yes, simply glorious! I only wish the PV was longer so we could get a bit of drama in there. And BTW, I just found out that this song was used as an ED in Naruto? Explains all the betrayals and ninja invasion I guess! Which brings us to the COOLness factor of the PVs…

If only there was some sword action too. Oh well, beggars can’t be chooser so I will take what I’ve got and savour it!

I really love this single. I haven’t stopped listening to both songs since I got my hands on the PVs. So buying this single! It is one to collect and I will be damned if I didn’t add it to mine as well!

Any way, more caps to close this off as usual…
