She has it so bad!

And here we are once again with another episode of this lovely classic drama – Sono toki haato wa nusumareta, and like i mentioned before on how I loved the pacing, this episode picks up from right where ‘Love Is War!’ left off when Katase and Hiroko bump into Saki and her Uncle at the shop!

They all end up going to Saki’s place for dinner…

A Dinner from hell!

Dinner from hell because Katase kept asking questions about uncle and Saki’s relationship, which is actually understandable because Saki was giving off ‘older-men’ hormones that it was starting to get stuffy in there. Not to mention that Hiroko wanted to know too even though she was too chicken to answer. Then the uncle wanting to get rid of the tense atmosphere, decides they play a game and guess which he chooses?

Family!

He plays the father, Saki as mother, and Katase and Hiroko obviously the kids. This would have made Saki happy in any other Universe but if there is one thing she made absolutely clear the last two episodes was that she simply hated childish things and there they were – playing a childish game!

No surprise then that she blows over and the night has to be called off with a steaming Saki going off to her room. She didn’t even see the guys off and Hiroko wasn’t once again pleased by Saki’s bitchy behavior so she stays behind to give her a piece of her mind. Only she it seems is able to tell Saki off to her face and Saki seems to like this new powerful Hiroko because she actually does apologize after the lecture and even kinda forces Hiroko to stay the night…

Oh Lord!

Hiroko and Saki together alone at night in the same bed? This is recipe for all kinds of trouble! But we are getting ahead here, because before that, we have a cute moment between the two after Hiroko takes a shower and sits in front of the mirror as she dries her hair. Saki comes over to grab something and Hiroko can’t help taking a whiff. To cover for the that she brings up a conversation about the perfume (that Saki had already told her about on their date last time) and Hiroko scores when Saki finally calls her by ‘Hiroko’ instead of the family name. Things sure are looking up for Hiroko.

When Saki leaves to get something, Hiroko’s thoughts of course begin to go into bad territory like she was a Dude in puberty or something, well, she was in puberty but she is a girl. Girls are not supposed to have dirty thoughts….yeah right…Any way Hiroko starts having panic attacke as she wonders what she should do as she looks at the single bed and thinks of that forever-stuck-in-her-thoughts first kiss! Will she have her ‘first time’ tonight? Will it with Saki too?

Nah….

Of course when Saki returns, Hiroko can’t help but jump like she was caught doing something bad, which she was really and since she turns around to face away from Saki, she doesn’t realize what Saki has brought back with her and thus what she might have meant when she called Hiroko over to the bed, where she had sat. With where Hiroko’s thoughts had been, she of course had weeding bells going off in her head when Saki called her over. She was probably hearing it in that seductive ‘Come here’ kind of voice too.

Saki had brought drinks (wine) and was just calling Hiroko over to have a toast and some pillow talk obviously. They have talks, mostly about Saki and her mother because she had brought girly make-up things which Hiroko didn’t think was like her to which she said that she usually didn’t get the chance to use them since she was mostly alone. Her mother rarely comes home because of her job which leaves Saki just like any other rick girl! As the night grows and grows into more pinky colors, Hiroko still can’t comprehend the reasoning behind Saki kissing her that night so she brings it up again! Why did Saki kiss her? Saki’s answer…?

She kissed Hiroko because she was CUTE!

Saki asks if they could do it again and of course an already down’d Hiroko (by Saki calling her cute) can’t do anything but stareeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! As she receives no answer, Saki goes in for the kill and suggests that maybe then they should continue on from there (from the kissing). Green-bottomed Hiroko has no idea of course as to what comes after. You should have watched your brother’s porn Hiroko, it was there! Any way it was fun watching the predator (Saki) cornering the lamb (Hiroko) until it fell off the cliff (bed). This was all fun on Saki’s part of course, as she breaks out in laughter at Hiroko’s dumbfounded looks!

Hiroko learns some more secrets about Saki as the night progresses like how her younger brother died as a baby and she had to buy a teddy which she pretended was the deceased brother. The talk goes on and on and the two get even closer after Saki opens up to Hiroko. Later on Saki falls asleep…

Welcome to the Garden of Eden where the sleeping Saki temps Hiroko into eating her…oops!

That’s right, with Hiroko’s growing feelings for Saki, and with that wine she downed, her body craves that of the downed Saki lying there all helpless and so inviting that she just can’t resist. She leans in to give sleeping beauty a kiss and as she gets closer and closer…so close that only less than 10cms stand between their lips…

The frikking doorbell rings!

And oh Lord, I could just feel the emotions swirling in Hiroko’s heart at that moment. She clearly looked more panicked than she has ever been, trying to look all innocent and by how fast Saki woke up soon after, I am guessing Hiroko was partly saved by the bell. Though I don’t think Saki would have blown a gasket over being kissed, I know she would have woken up had Hiroko kissed her.

The one that was at the door was Hiroko’s Mom since apparently they were so damn worried (having not spent a night without their daughter in the house) so she came to pick her up! Like, she is already 16 FFS! Cut her some slack!

Any way that puts the end to what was looking out to be a golden night!

Sigh

On her way home Hiroko can’t help but worry about the lonely Saki who has to sleep in that large a house, that large a bed all on her own.

Back at school rumors are flying around that Tate (Tatebayashi), Midori’s (Hiroko’s friend) boyfriend is going out with Saki. Apparently they were seen coming out of a love motel. Hiroko enters the class while this commotion is taking place. Upon learning of what is the cause, she of course wastes no time in defending Saki by saying how she isn’t that type of person. She offers to go ask Tate in person if the rumors are true seeing as Midori is too bent to ask herself.

In the third years’ class, they are still practicing Shirayuki-hime and the boys are wearing dresses when Hiroko pops by. Tate and Katase come over and Hiroko wastes no time in demanding answers. Stupid Tate of course makes an ass of himself and seeing as Katase is right there and also a huge Saki-fag, he showers fists on Tate and the two rumble around the room – which was pretty funny seeing as that were still dressed in the plop dresses. The gym teacher puts an end to the fight, with force in the end but the answers to Hiroko’s question are still vague! And so she still can’t help but worry about it, now that she is into Saki she sees herself kind of in the mix.

As she goes home, Hiroko’s problems pile up another level when Katase catches up with her and confesses that he actually likes Saki. Erm…hello! We already knew that like ages ago! Well, maybe Hiroko didn’t or maybe she just forgot because le shock face of hers was something! Turns out Katase thought Hiroko likes him so that is why he apologizes as he tell her that he likes Saki instead and it’s why he went off on his friend earlier. Also apparently Midori is the one that asked Katase to ask Hiroko out that time (stupid meddlesome friends) so Katase had no feelings for Hiroko whatsoever! Isn’t it sad Hiroko…Apparently not since she couldn’t give a single fffuuu about Katase’s feelings now, well, not the ones towards Hiroko…His feelings towards Saki on the other hand…

At home Hiroko thoughts come out once again as she confirms that she really like Saki but then she goes into the thoughts that plague every gay person out there – She likes Saki but Saki is a girl. Is she strange? Is she a pervert? Is she going to bring problems for her family? And so on and so forth.

At school the next day – the day of the festival actually, Midori can’t stand it anymore so instead watching her boyfriend’s play, she drags Hiroko and their other friend off to Saki Uncle’s workshop to ask her clearly about the rumor. Upon getting there though, things turn to hell without even wasting a second. Just as the Uncle confirms that Saki is in, she comes out wearing only a shirt and wet from the shower as she dries her hair and says a line that is sure to start a fire – “Ah that felt so good”! Queue le shocked faces and frozen over heart of Hiroko’s.

Wasting even less time, Midori marches over to where Saki is sitting using the dryer, pulls it out of the wall socket with a ‘no bullshitting’ intent before she asks Saki if she slept with Tate. The Uncle goes to excuse himself seeing where this is going but is shot down by Saki. He sits back down!

I think Saki is on drugs or something because she says she slept with him. Of course Midori is super pissed that she jumps Saki immediately who is saved when Hiroko and the other friend comes to the rescue. When Midori asks if Saki loves Tate, she says not really which earns earned her a slap from Midori before she runs off, followed by the other friend.

Hiroko hesitates and finally settles on taking Saki back to her house, probably to bombard her with her own questions if she slept with dearest Uncle too, Saki of course doesn’t leave which finally opens the cap on the pressurized bottle that is Hiroko! “What the fuck are you doing here?” “What are you doing in such clothes?” So the questioning goes! But it turns out it’s all a misunderstanding which takes off the pressure a little bit off the bottle but Hiroko still has questions and they still end up at Saki’s.

Hiroko asks her if she really did sleep with Tate, after lecturing Saki about going to school which earned her a ‘you’re not cute when you are like that’ and thus rendering her speechless to change the subject, to which of course Saki says that it doesn’t matter who she sleeps with or what. Hiroko argues that it matters and wonders if Saki sleeps with anyone and why she does with people she has no feelings for. Hiroko leaves defeated but as she gets outside, a taxi pulls up waiting for Saki. Hiroko doesn’t want things to end up the way they were going between her and Saki so she catches the door before Saki closes it.

“I like you Saki”

Hiroko says out of the blue!

“…”

I was le shock too! Every time I see this drama I never expect it to happen here but it does! Saki is all ‘ I don’t need friends, sorry’, but Hiroko is all like – ‘No! it’s not like that! I have…I have fallen in love with you!”

“…”

The taxi driver is like – “OMG, what’s this I don’t even…”

Saki gets out of the car suddenly and gives her earrings to Hiroko as an answer! Poor Hiroko is left there confused and a little hurt, okay, not so little, as she expected anything, even a rejection but that! She throws the earring on the ground and breaks out in tears. But isn’t that too hasty Hiroko? What if they were a family heirloom or something? I mean this is Saki we are talking about here so she of course will do things differently.

Sigh

Sono Hatsu 3.mp4 - 00061

Apparently this isn’t the last of these two’s breakdown because later on it comes down to blows when at school Hiroko receives a call from Saki who asks her out on another date. Putting on her best getup and meeting up the promised place, what awaited her was not even on the to-do list of Hiroko’s for the night. Saki started telling everyone as to how Hiroko loves and all that then she had the guts of setting Hiroko up with the guys sitting with them because if she didn’t have sex, Hiroko apparently wouldn’t know what love truly was. This sets Hiroko off again and the two finally have the long awaited fight!

And that endeth the episode!

Has Hiroko’s first real love reached its life’s expectance? Does Saki feel nothing for her at all after all?

Sono Hatsu 3.mp4 - 00062

We shall just have to wait until next episode to find out I guess.
