So, today I went to teh movies and enjoyed some popcorn along with this movie and MIB³

Snow White was the one I was most excited about from the get go since after seeing that exclusive trailer with Charlize.

Though I knew it would be nothing but BAD END (Really, not even the witches in the disney version get a happy ending so it was a no-no for this dark take on the tale really) but I was looking forward to…I don’t know, something!

Of course Charlize kicked ass as I was expecting and Kristen looked appetising in that dark leather get-up. Ravenna sure knew how to dress her up. But that wasn’t the delivery I was talking about.

Okay, get this…

Ravenna impersonates Snow White’s childhood friend and has a chat with Snow White while she goes off for a stroll, leaving the Dudes asleep. For reasons un-known to me (I really need to get them blurays or a re-watch perhaps – unlimited card owner here) Ravenna sweet-talks Snow White in fact going so far as to support her emotionally in building an army to take down the Queen (her of course) and while Snow White ponders how she’s supposed to do that, Ravenna tells her of their childhood days (as William-dude/childhood friend) where he would just follow her and do what she asked just by her being her.

Snow White grows bashful and one thing leads to another and soon Snow White is kissing Ravenna (Who is William-dude ATM) and when Ravenna goes to deepen the kiss (…WHAT…!) Snow pulls away.

Facts – Snow White initiated the Kiss. Ravenna wanted more!

Of course being the fabulous baddie that she is, she uses a trick from William-dude’s childhood memories (how does she know these things?!) and gives Snow White an apple (Like William did years ago) and of course, it is cursed.

While Ravenna pours out her heart to a dying Snow White, informing her of her cursed life and how she can’t die and that the only thing to kill her/lift the curse is blood of a pure hearted (which turns out to be Snow White), the Dudes jump in the ruin everything. Ravenna leaves having taught Snow White the betrayal that love holds.

Willi-Dude kisses a dead Snow White (She doesn’t wake up). Hunts-dude later does the same (Wait, I thought he was married and waaaaaaaay older that Snow White!) She wakes up after that but OH THANK GOD that they didn’t explore that shit any farther (Or maybe they did. I wouldn’t know. I left the theatre as Snow White was being crowned New Queen – Work you know, Life sucks – can’t even finish a damn movie!)

But any ways, the bottom line is, the Dudes kissed snow White – kissed! – but she was D-E-A-D dead! So really, they don’t count for a frikkin thing! Not to mention that apart from the childhood closeness of Snow and Will-dude, there was not that strongly a chemistry between the Dudes and Snow.

Ravenna on the other hand…They actually remind me of Mirana and Alice (Alice in Wonderland 2010). They had more…heart-splosive air about them than with anybody else.

There were many quotable/shippable lines and scenes in there that my x40 zoom goggles felt a little blinding!

Did I mention that Snow kissed Ravenna? She was a Dude but still! – Let me imagine it was intentional please. Hollywood can’t be that forward so this is the only way they can do it. Mirana caressed Alice’s cheek lovingly after she brought her victory while Alice got lost in those mesmerising orbs of the White Queen so they had to do something different. Let Snow kiss Ravenna…conspicuously.

Some things I remember…

“You’re really beautiful” – young Snow. “That’s kind child. Especially since yours is said to be the true beauty.” – answers Ravenna.

“”I feel like you and I and bound” indicates Snow’s heart “in here.” – Ravenna.

“I used to hate her” – Snow talking about Ravenna having heard how everyone hates the Queen. How about now snow, how about now?

“Lips red as blood. Hair black as night. Bring me you heart my dear, dear Snow White.” – Ravenna

A village dies, Snow doesn’t cry. She is supposedly pure, yet she kills men as they storm the castle. SHE CRIES FOR RAVENNA as she is dying, “you can’t have my heart” – Snow says but she says is so strangely that I….

And that moment where they are so close they stare into each other’s souls after Snow plunges the dagger into Ravenna’s heart…

My God!

I swear something happened in that moment…And farther back in the movies the Hunts-dude’s words came back to me where he said something about Snow not letting go of the blade after stabbing someone until she sees their souls. Does this mean Snow saw Ravenna’s soul? Is she toe only one in the whole world that truly understood the sophisticated Dark Queen?

Damn….

I can already see the fics rolling out like crazy from the community!

This is gonna be a fun summer, nay, it is 2012 after all!

So any ways, yeah. This is one to test the level of your yuri goggles that’s for sure but for this random spec of dust in themilky way, I ma so adding this to my collection, damn it!

Okay, that’s it – I am re-watching this tomorrow (In its entirety) before I see Prometheus!
