That time of the year is upon us again.
It feels like yesterday that I was gushing with pure excitement that my Goddess Yukirin took 3rd place in AKB48’s biggest yearly event ‘The Senbatsu Elections’ of last June.
And now it is time again for us of the AKB community to spit fires in defence and cheer of our Oshii!

And of course with AKB always comes surprises and this year is no different.

Goodbye Sweet Princess, You will be missed
Perhaps the most shaking news (or not so much so by now) is that Acchan – AKB48’s official face/Ace is leaving/graduating come AKB48’s dream being realised of performing at the Tokyo Dome. Ah but it doesn’t stop there. Dearest Acchan dropped out of this year’s senbatsu and with just that, the gears have shifted so much it’s rib-breaking to see the first preliminary results that were released on the 23rd.

The first two of course were to be expected with Yuko (Oshima Yuko – Team K) taking the lead and Yukirin-ojou (Kashiwagi Yuki – Team B Capt) taking 2nd.

Most interesting to this specific fan is that Mayuki are finally together with Mayuyu (Watanabe Mayu – Team B) taking 3rd and WMatsui together as well with Team S Rena (Matsui Rena) and Jurina (Matsui Jurina) taking 7th and 8th places respectively. Talk about destiny!

Oh but there is more. Last year I was disappoint and more so with the NMB management dissing my Maachun’s (Ogasawara Mayu – Team N) original third placement but the fans love her and will not fall for those push shenanigans as they voted for her and she is now the third NMB48 girl once again by placing 31st to be in Undergirls. Sayanee (Yamamoto Sayaka – Team N) and Milky (Watanabe Miyuki – Team N/B) beat her by taking 18th and 19th respectively.
These of course were only the first day of voting votes with only about 100000 people having voted so far.
Only Lord knows how the votes stand right about now!
I shall believe though. Not that Yukirin will take first place since I actually don’t mind at all that she is centre. I guess I have grown to love her being support than anything else. Damn you Aki-P for always pushing her to the back no matter the senbatsu! Seriously, looking to the other none-senbatsu singles, you wouldn’t think she was in the top 10 since the first senbatsu elections! Always being pushed to the back! Damn it! well, no matter, I love her most and so do many others none the less so all is grand.

Since Acchan isn’t participating, I wonder where all those Acchan wotas are gonna place their votes now. Do they just drop out completely? Vote for their 2nd oshimen? Or maybe vote for Acchan’s dearest best friend (*cough*lover*cough), Takamina?
I expect Takamina to keep her place or at least rise up one just behind Mayuyu.

Being realistic, Yuko and Yukirin are certain to keep their places-statistical truth-and Mayuyu well she’ll probably have tough run probably will either stay at 3 or return to 4 or 5 position, I think the other top senbatsu members as the day rallies are going to bounce back to their normal positions. I expect changes and joggles form positions 3 through 64 I think positions 1 and 2 are secured!! I voted for Yukirin!!! I orignally intended to vote for Yukirin and Acchan, but Acchan isn’t an option 2 votes for Yukirin in here!!

I wouldn’t be so sure about the first two. The first one maybe but Yukirin and Mayuyu were very close together with about 100 difference so…
I don’t mind though as long as they still stay Mayuki even if Mayuyu comes 2nd and Yukirin 3rd. They would still be in close proximity for Yukirin to be there for Mayuyu as always.

Right back at ya!! The difference between Yuko and Yukirin during day 1 was 2,437 votes and between Yukirin and Mayuyu was 1,325 as sustainable difference for Yukirin I think. we’ll see next Thursday though! Ah sorry, I meant 1000. But those are indeed a huge gap.
Not as big as the one between Yuko and Yukirin last year but still a lot.

Dude welcome back!!!! Seriously, it seemed like as soon as you left, there was an unstoppable tide of shocking AKB announcements (like the Acchan one mentioned above).

No problem. XD Well, I guess the KKS are the main characters… if you haven’t seen episode 5 yet, there are some hilarious parts with the senbatsu members where you can kinda get to know them better, though whilst there’s a little Saeyaka (ok, not really, it’s just them hanging out basically), there’s no Mayuki yet… 😦
However – the 77th gen kenkyuusei are AWESOME.
