Marvellous
Thanks to one of my lovely commenters ANdo, this lovely video was brought to my attention and I have to say, it is something else.
Despite its length, it came off as a whole movie to me when watching it. I did not understand a word that was said, as it is Korean but from what I understood the two girls probably were best friends at the start even though one of them seemed to have loved her friend way more.
The guy featured in the song (don’t care who he is really) seems to have been involved in this complicated love triangle. The song seems to be about the love rivalry between the guy and one of the girls but fear not, just like Chikane proved to us that it’s not always the guy that wins when it comes to these kinds of triangles, this time the girl wins the girl as well.
The PV looks smashin’ beautiful, just like any other Korean PVs really, and the concept was great for a PV. Just around 3min long, I felt like I had just watched a whole movie afterwards. That’s the amount of emotion this PV was able to produce in me.
There was no kissing or anything of the sort – which is why I don’t see why there would be any public fires lit by the PV (as I am being told). It was just standard light yuri that we see in most Korean movies so I didn’t really get what the fuss was about.
Don’t you just hate iPhones!
If they are into light yuri, I guess I can understand as I nearly burst in flames at some scenes in this PV. For example the bed scene – now when I say bed scene I don’t mean like making out or anything perverted like that. The girls were just laying one the bed, still clothed, while they played the ‘touching game’ of tracing lips with fingers and exchanged heated gazes. Too bad the moment was broken by the phone ringing, from you know who!
The only beef I have with this PV is that I don’t recognise the girls. I promise you that this won’t be an issue soon, as I am so going to pull out my google skillz on them. So look out for more from Baby Soul and Yoo Ji Ah in case I find more goodies that are relevant to our interests.
As for the song itself, I have nada to say about it. Leaving the issue of not understanding Korean apart from a spoken two or three words I know, I am not at all qualified to critic on music since I have zero knowledge. The farthest I can manage to talk music is by saying ‘I like that song’ or ‘I don’t like that song’.
~
I excavated YouTube for those who want a physical copy of the PV so get it on MF.

The fuss is because it is Girls Generation and management have spent years trying to hide the truth about their status they are in New York this week for the Letterman show and the last thing they want is for the Yanks to know that these nine gorgeous girls are not interested in boys.

OMG! They are GENE? Really> I knew one of them looked some what familiar.
Now I really have to get more into SNSD. Wait, Is Girls Generation both GENE & SNSD or am I messing things up? O.o
But getting back on topic, even if it is members of GENE, there is no reason for such fuss. It is not like they did anything extreme, in fact this PV is way tame compared to some of what the 48 family has done. Not to mention this is all in a PV, fantasy setting and not really real (it wasn’t about them, was it?).
Thank you for this information kidafohs, and thanks for visiting as well.

Genie was one of their big hits along with Hoot, The Boys (latest) but I like Run Devil Run there are six Korean Koreans in the group 2 American born Koreans and 1 Canadian they are in NY at the moment on the Letterman show tomorrow. Their last USA concert in NY was sold out in 10 minutes so it was shown on the screens in Times Square. Unlike AKB or SKE they all live together in one house 2 to a room. They are actually very nice people, Tiffany’s sister is Crystal from the group T-ara another big Korean group. SNSD and Girls Generation are the same, SNSD stands for Sonyeo Shidae the korean name for the group. Huge all over the World they have played all of Asia Europe and America their aim as stated on CNN before Christmas is total world domination and they are getting there. Next single due in March all new records are produced in Korean, English and Japanese so anybody can understand them.

Thank you so much for the information. I fell like I have already earned 10% of SNSD knowledge. What better way to start getting into a fandom!
And now I see why they are so popular with foreign fans more than our humble AKB family. >.<
Thank you so very much again for the useful information kidafohs ^^ You're already gotten to my good side…well my good good side since I have no bad side, I think.

O_o.They’re Baby Soul and Yoo Jia from Woollim Entertainment not SM http://www.woolliment.com/artist/artist_woollim.wol I think kidafohs just want to recommend you some Girl love from K-Pop.I dont’ know about GENE but Girls Generation is the translate name of 소녀시대 (So Nyeo Shi Dae,SNSD)

Hi HunterWind,
Thanks for dropping in and…err..clearing this up(?)
What is going on? Which is which? I thought the internet lied to me when I researching that post! I guess they weren’t SNSD then?
I don’t know SNSD yet so I would not know if they were or weren’t members but I was confused when it got to the names! >.<
February 1, 2012 at 04:35
Sorry for bad English I think that make you confused…
SNSD and Girls Generation are the same (SNSD is Korea name and Girls Generation is English name) and they from SM Ent.
2 girls in the MV are Baby Soul and Yoo Jia from Woollim Ent.
They’re not related.
I think kidafohs just want to recommend some yuri “couple” from K-Pop
(I still don’t know who’s GENE though)
And to mess your head even more, here come another girl love MV:

Ah, Thanks for clearing that up!
I just thought the girls in this MV were members of SNSD.
And thanks for the link. I will check it out when I get home. Frikkin college servers don’t allow access to youtube, like, WTF?

The vid showed joy turn 2 tragedy in the blink of an eye. Tragic films like this may serve 2 show those (who R capable) of understanding beyond their own experience that homosexual love is just as real, strong, sincere, worthy of respect as is theirs.Change is coming, but not fast enough. So many tragedies, esp. In young people, because of meaningless lack of understanding.
December 28, 2012 at 22:42
Tragic?
Hmmm…I thought it was the typical love story. It had the usual blindness that came when one girl thought the other didn’t like her but in the end it was a happy end so it cancels out all the bad.
But I understand what you mean. Though the world is more forgiving towards people who are considered immoral, there is still a long way to go until everyone is accepted for who they are.

The guy’s name is Dongwoo, he’s from Infinite (and my profile picture)…….sorry, I was just dying to tell you, though you said you didn’t care…
And I think maybe it’s a girl to her ex-boyfriend after breaking up and going to another girl (who has boys/a boyfriend), and Dongwoo’s part is from the boy she broke up with.
Either that or the only girl who ever had the boyfriend was the one with the iPhone.
