Is your body ready?
I said, is your body ready?
I haven’t been looking this forward to an anime season since…I can’t even remember. Since it’s already gone, I might as well make a 2010 confession.
I only watched two anime episode to episode in the whole of 2011. TWO! Madoka and Fate/Zero.
You know what that means? That means that I was only excited for one anime every six months!
Like, WTH?!! Even I am shocked by this!! The other anime that I watched for the year (7 or so of them) I either waited for the series to finish or just jumped in the middle!
Haven’t watched an episode of Yuru Yuri!
See the problem?
Anime world has just not been that exciting for me lately but now I think I am getting my mojo back.
And it’s thanks to this Winter’s line-up.
As you can see, in the first quarter alone, I am magnetically floating towards 6 series already.
Tantei Opera Milky Holmes 2
The story follows the “Milky Holmes” quartet — Sheryl (Mimori Suzuko), Nero (Tokui Sora), Elly (Sasaki Mikoi), and Cordelia (Kitta Izumi) — in the age of great detectives, where they use special abilities granted to them by their “Toys” to try and capture members of the “Phantom Empire” who use their own Toys to commit crimes. In their ongoing pursuit of their leader Arsene (Akesaka Satomi), they’re joined by their rivals from the Yokohama Police Anti-Phantom Thief Team “Genius 4″ — Kokoro (Nanjou Yoshino), Tsugiko (Sawashiro Miyuki), Hirano (Shintani Ryouko), and Saku (Tamura Yukari) — but still unaware that the Phantom Empire is undercover at Holmes Detective Academy and monitoring them closely.

I have to confess that I was one of the few who got into the first season only later. But once I got in, there was no way out! It had all I look for in anime; Subtext, Action and Girls! I was an instant fan. And so come the bandwagon for 2nd season, you bet ur lovely butt I stepped over the elderly to hop on.
Black★Rock Shooter TV
Yamamoto Yutaka’s Studio Ordet is back with an eight-episode TV series based on supercell illustrator Huke’s original character, Black Rock Shooter. This time, it’s in collaboration with Studio SANZIGEN and features a story written by Okada Mari. Things are expected to pick up where the OVA left off, after middle-schooler Kuroi Mato (Hanazawa Kana) took on the “BRS” persona in an alternate world to rescue her friend Takanashi Yomi (Sawashiro Miyuki) from an evil persona known as “Deadmaster”. Yomi became jealous of Mato’s new classmate and basketball club manager Yuu (Asumi Kana), allowing Deadmaster to possess her, but now the jealousy within Yuu is starting to give way to an evil persona of her own — “Strength”.
Surely if you are a regular here, (and had the heart to reader farther) I need not explain my love for BRS. Surely.
Now, before you go sighing *Oh lawd. Here we go again. Another VOCALOID fag* Sorry to disappoint that I am not that sort of fan! I just simply loved BRS the OVA. If you are new here and are lost, Let me direct you to that post now.
Now for the TV series. First of all, 8 episodes?!! Like, that’s OVA material. Why didn’t they just go on with 7 more OVAs? This way things would’ve been avoided, bad things. Like Dead Master’s ugly cutesy do over. The OVA was 50 minutes and if they are re-making it, all they are gonna do is feel in more cut scenes from that OVA.
But I am still looking forward to more Yomi x Mato dammnit!
Senki Zesshou Symphogear
Composer Agematsu Noriyasu of Elements Garden — the sound production group that wrote many songs for anime, games, and Mizuki Nana’s hit singles — has teamed up with game designer Kaneko Akifumi to create an original series where music is the main focus. The end result is a sci-fi fantasy series set in the not-so-distant future, where mankind’s been at the mercy of a threat called “Noise”, which decomposes a victim into carbon upon contact. The United Nations has acknowledged the threat, but there are no known countermeasures. Unbeknownst to the world, the Kazanari Organization in Japan has developed a “Symphogear System” that’s proven to be effective. However, its existence is top secret because of the post-WWII Japan-US Security Treaty. Also a secret is how chart-topping vocal unit “Zwei Wing”, Kazanari Tsubasa (Mizuki Nana) and Amou Kanade (Takayama Minami), are the ones using it. They end up meeting two new students at Lydian Music Academy, Tachibana Hibiki (Yuuki Aoi) and Kohinata Miku (Iguchi Yuka), and inadvertently get them involved in the fight against Noise.
New series.
Kinda worried about this one already, what with the rumours of one of the girls being killed off in the first 15 minute and all that…Oops, too spoilersh, well, tough. If I have to surfer, you are going down with me too.
But I am not too worried. There is always a reason to kill off a main character early on, especially in the first minutes of the show. Most times the reasons are sound and actually make you nod your head later on so I shall believe!
But what’s with those mics?! Music Anime? Oh well…AKB is ghey crazy so things aren’t so bad.
Rinne no Lagrange
I don’t know what it is with car manufacturers and anime, but Nissan seems to be taking a page out of Subaru’s book by designing the mechs for Production I.G’s new original series that their subsidiary XEBEC will be animating. Set in the ocean-side city of Kamogawa, the story follows Kyouno Madoka (Ishihara Kaori), a cheerful and energetic girl who’s the sole member of Kamojo High’s “Jersey Club”. She tries to help anyone in need, but gets an unusual request from a mysterious girl named Lan (Seto Asami), who asks her to pilot a “Vox” robot and defend the world against alien invaders. While confused at first, Madoka decides to help because she wants to protect the beaches of Kamogawa, and she’s soon joined by Muginami (Kayano Ai), an alien girl who has infiltrated Earth for a different reason. Lan enlists both their help because she’s been dispatched to Earth on a mission, but was afraid of battling herself. As the three of them fight together, they discover why the enemy’s targeting their Voxes and what the “Rinne” is.
A Kiss of Life to start things off? Well, Mai-HIME did it right so may be, just may be. Only please don’t let there be Robot love. I hated Xenoglossia for that. I hated it! Also it might just be me but I am getting some Umi no Monogatari vibes from this even though it’s mecha. Oh well…
Also there is three girls. But for some reason, I am not worried about threesome. (I hate threesomes) From that pic I can already see Ran’s (The blue haired) fate. Let’s just pray I am wrong. Also that pic is telling of who will be all lovey dovey.
Either way, bring it on.

Another new one.
I gotta say, even with mixed feelings, I am going to go in head first just from the Girl w/ Guns in Space theme alone! The lack of good-looking guys is also very motivating. No main characters I know fall for the ugly ones.
That’s good…That’s very good.
Kill Me Baby
J.C. Staff is taking on four projects this season, the second of which is an adaptation of a four-cell manga that follows your typical schoolgirl, Oribe Yasuna (Akasaki Chinatsu), and her not-so-typical professional assassin friend, Sonya (Tamura Mutsumi). Sonya’s natural assassin instincts make it hard for her to fit in — and for good reason, as Yasuna often ends up the receiving end of them with her outgoing personality. They’re soon joined by the extremely laid-back Goshiki Agiri (Takabe Ai), a modern day ninja who’s a member of Sonya’s organization, turning this everyday school manga into a silly slapstick affair. Helming this production is director Yamakawa Yoshiki and screenwriter Kunisawa Mariko, who worked together previously on another J.C. Staff adaptation, Hatsukoi Limited.
The cute one of the season.
The cute one with subtext of the season. Sorry, had to correct that no thanks to Mitsudomoe. That shit was so much trap! Yes, TRAP! What a waste of moewidth!
Seems also that Ume-sensei likes this one too so all good?
And since this is a 4-koma adaptation (a la Lucky Star and Nichijou), what could possibly go wrong?
All good then?
All good.
.
…
So erm yeah. This is what I am looking forward to this anime season. Airing starts as early as 5th Jan. Too bad BRS isn’t until Feb. Oh well, we can’t have everything!
I figured this was the best post to kick things off for 2012.
And once again, Happy New Year to you all and thank you for visiting.
