Marti/Savanna

Alyson Renae Michalka plays Marti Perkins, a girl who never understood why anyone would want to be a cheerleader, only to later be forced to become one herself when she learns that cheerleaders get scholarships. She does need that tuition fees after all.

Ashley Michelle Tisdale plays the…er…down to earth captain of the Hellcats Savanna Monroe (hmm), the cheerleading team of their school.

The two run into each other in the administration office as Marti is looking through the guide to various scholarships whereas Savanna was there to put in her application form for one to the Principal.

The two break out into a word fight when Marti belittles the cheerleading team, shocked that they get a scholarship! Savanna proceeds to shout out the road to cheerleading and its hardships when the two realise they were being watched. They break off quietly.

This is their first meeting.

Aly (Michalka) is one hot babe and the fashion the designer chose for her for this series brings out her true curves real well. Ashley (Savanna) is not bad at all either. She is smaller than Marti a good deal but this actually works out quite well (If you know what I mean).

Hellcats as far as I am concerned is all about Marti and Savanna’s relationship. It totally reminds me of Mai/Mikoto (MaiHIME) that even though Mai had these relationship troubles with two guys and her bro, the story was mainly about her and Mikoto’s growth.

This is the same for Hellcats. there was a lot of electricity between Marti and Savanna from the moment that they meet. Great thing is that it won’t be the rival one. It leans more on the side of best bud!

There is already enough proof in episode one to win a court hearing of the best relationship in the series so far. Actually it is the best relationship in the series so far. The fact that the two girls are the top voted for characters already not withstanding.

Here are some moments.

Marti and Savanna’s first meeting.

Savanna taken by Marti’s presence at the auditions of Hellcats member to replace an injured Hellcat. I don’t know why is so smote at this scene. Marti seems taken aback as well but it could be the fact that the girl she had had a fight with before about cheerleading turned out to be the Captain.

There is some exchanging of gazes during the tryouts as well. And wouldn’t you believe it, Savanna actually voted for Marti, who too was taken aback once she learns of the this.

Marti winning the spot, get to live in the Cheerleaders Dorm (Fraternity?!) only to find out that she is sharing the room with none other than…Yes you guessed it, our dear Captain.

Things are heating up already.

Savanna already had everything prepared for Marti to move in. That had to need some time so to find that she did it in that short a time is…And what happened to the other occupant or was the captain living alone? if so then why share now? It doesn’t matter really because this is AWESOME!

During this room-mate meeting, there is an exchange of words I am never to forget. While Savanna is showing Marti around, all happy for some reason (They should totally be enemies because of the fight earlier and the fact that Marti is the type who goes solo and Savanna is the kind of girl who is dedicated to team spirit). This is what is said. I put in in caps for good measure.

HAHAHA, the look on Savanna’s face was priceless.

And during practice for the qualifiers, the coach decides to change the routine having been inspired by Marti’s adrenaline-inducing try out session earlier and advices the Hellcats to follow Marti’s moves.

Though the Captains is somewhat resistant at first not thinking the change a good idea, she soon follows and actually matches up to Marti herself. These two are going places I tell ya! It’s like the both drive each other (Or more like they are trying to impress each other, heh!). It’s like they found the other’s soulmate or something the way they are connecting and seem to be on the same frequency (to hell with wavelength).

Later on, alone in their room, Marti spills her life’s story (already?!!) to Savanna. Now Savanna knows everything about Marti even her Archie’s heel.

They are already at this level of friendship?!!

BANZAI!

And what’s even better, the two don’t have any official boyfriends, even though Marti being the lead…Arg…But Savanna, the captain doesn’t have a guy! The cheerleading Captain has no boyfriend!!! This is promising, right? Right fellas?!

This is turning out to be great and promising. And from what I hear, there is to be more shenanigans between the two in the next ep and it is time for Savanna to lean onto Marti’s shoulder!

I am so watching this (With Maggie Q’s TV series NIKITA! Though it has yet to provide anything to talk about except possible shipping)
