About ‘New Moon’

Team Edward VS Team Jacob?

Madness!

Anyway, as for the whole view on the movie goes…

You know when you go to the cinema to watch a movie the first day it’s out? At night when the students swam the cinema like Bees in  a hive during summer? Then when the movies ends they scream and clap like the fan girls and boys they are?

It didn’t happen for New Moon! Throught the whole movie there was silence everywhere and not the good ‘shhh’ kind either. It was like everyone was waiting for ‘something’ to happen that didn’t happen. Then when the movie ended every one left like it was the end of a lecture or something.

I was one of these though having read the book just last week and thus might have not enjoyed the movie as much as I would have otherwise(without reading the book), I was happy somehow.

Now, everyone knows by now how I feel about romance movies (unless they are relevant to our interests) but even so, I find the romance it Twillight very…unappeasing. Okay it might have to do with the fact that I hate Book Version Bella’s definition of romance but Bella/Edward is a very NO! I would even vote for Jacob weren’t I a very Alice addict!

Why am I talking about that again?!!

Anyway, I loved New Moon for these reasons;

1. Alice. Alice. Alice

What a wondergirl. She was like the real new moon in the whole damn movie(for me). Whenever she appeared there came a grin on my face where there was a flat face otherwise.

Did anyone count how many times Bella said ‘Alice’?!!! I am gonna go watch it again on Moday just to find out!

Though one of my best lines from the book (e.g: I am betting on Alice – Bella) were not present in the movie, they were made up but all the e-mails Bellas wrote to Alice. All the thoughts Bella had about Alice.

Alice is the only girl I would hitch a ride with. Fine driver that girl is. Real fine! Has freat taste in wheels as well – a plus.

Alice came back for dear Bells and secretly too. Boo hoo for what they did to the re-union scene. It was so poor I had to close my eyes. There was no emotion like there was in the book. I also know that there wasn’t time in the movie but it saddened me that Alice had to leave the same hour she had arrived. No bonding taimu and snuggling like there was in the book. Thank Goddess Willow I read the book.

Movie left me craving for more Alice/Bellas even after the hundreds of fics of the two I have read since Twillight. Time to go reading again.

While I am on the subject, if you haven’t read fembuck‘s The Edge, a damn shame on you. this is like the bestest Alice/Bella fic. And girl have I read a couple of those…

Alice is undoubtedly my fav Twillight chara. I would take her home – if I could – physically that is!

2. Action (Where Weres are concerened)

What Twillight lacked was awesome vamp action and even though we were ripped off the Laurent/Pack battle a little, it was waay more than what was written in the book. In the book there wasn’t even one. It was mentioned as a pass that Laurent was keeled in and nothing more. It was great to see him in action. I almost broke a face when he back-handed Sam.

Awesomeness!

They even managed to make THE RACE(Victoria running away from the pack of werewolves) look awesome as well.

The there was that scene with the Volturi…Da-amn! the Edward thrushing was almost enough to make me stop eying Dakota-chan….There was no action at all in the book at this scene but Jane putting the hurt on Edward(grins).

3. Werewolves

Damn fines beasties these were. Best werewolves I’ve seen since Van Hellsing. Damn Sam was like taller than a human when in Beasty form. Increadible!

Too bad their awesomness wasn’t truly shown like in an all out vamp VS were battle but alas, all they showed was massacre. 5 againt 1? Really, not so tough are we? at least Van Were took on Draculla himself alone.

There are some things I didn’t dig about the movie as well.

The Soundtrack sucks major *bleep*. It was like I was watching a silent movie (Except where there was action). It was so damn quiet. It didn’t help at all that the audience was quiet as well. Twillight had incredible BGM plus awesome ST and here I thought I wouldn’t even need to compare the two.

Sigh.

Then there is the issue with the vamps. I thought they were supposed to be a hard as marble and yet I noticed mistakes in the first ten minutes. When soft soft Bella crinkled Edaward’s forehead skin when they kissed in School the car park. Talk about lame. The sparkles were even less sparkly as well from the first movie. And their skin which was kinda beautiful in the first movie were almost as niced toned as mine. And what about forks itself? That dark and sexy mood we so remember wasn’t the same this time around. Then there is the running. Oh how I fell in love with the idea of the vamps in the first movie but in New Moon they were like Ascour telelporting and running at the same time. What’s up with that? What happened to the awesome woods sprinting I loved so much before?

All in all, 3 VS 2 says that I love New Moon better than Twilight.

And as a parting gift, here is some girl love…

Indeed, I just read the part where Alice came visit Bella. (Chapter 17, right?) in New Moon. Haha. Awesome. But in the movie, I didn’t see any cuddling, what fudge? Anyways.. nice review. I know, Alice was my favorite character throughout the whole movie that I watched. (I never read the second, third, or four book.) I did read the first.

      You are so wise!

So I garther you only read that chapter in the second book? Well, you made teh right choice, though there are some great lines in the books scattered every here and there that support Alice/Bella, even though it would never amount to much.

Having read spoilers for breaking dawn, I decided to stop on book two but I might go farhter just to archive those said great quotes!

      Thanks for dropping by.

    I adore Alice x Bella<3
Alice and Bella make a wonderful match. XD New moon was my favorite out of the series for many reasons. One was because we had less of Edward. (I despise him.) And Jacob and Alice rocked, and those two are my favorite characters.
