Having already sobered from the high that is the sheer fact that we have the Kagoshimai facing off as the captains of Red and White teams in AKB48’s 6th Kouhaku Utagassen, I finally got the mind to sit down and look through the line-up and man…Talk about unequal ground! Things get even worse when you see the whole listing of the full members! Like, are you even serious Bruh?!
From talent to star-power Red Team has White beat in all regards. Dancers, singers, Kamis, Aces…Jesus Red team, what even?! There is no way that White team is going to win this without some strings being pulled!
Starting from the top, look at those captains!! Red has two of the most experienced ‘organisers’ in the group, one with her own solo tours (Yukirin) and the other with a whole group (Sasshi) and both a super nerds when it comes to Idols so like…I don’t even…. And let’s not forget the instrumentalists in Nao, who is backed-up by Sayanee, Rion and Aoi. Meanwhile don’t get me started on the vocals (Miyu, Erina, Sayanee, Yukirin) and dancing skills (Yokoyama Yui, Tano, Yuria, Jurina, etc, etc…!
Oh man, this is going to be some brutal experience!
Thank the Lord that I am mostly going into this for the Kagoshima combi. Yeah yeah, I know they are supposed to be competing but hey, at least finally AKS is recognising their duel value so this is a cause for flipping out in happiness!!!
What are the odds that instead of singing different songs like the captains that have come before, they instead both sing the same song and battle it out dance floor style? I mean Sakura VS Yukirin in a music performance battle is pure madness but if they were to perform the same song while doing the thing, al else is forgotten!

dear Mayuki, please just announce that wedding date as that is all that we are waiting for at this rate! Like, are you even kidding me? You know, I really want to meet anyone who knows of AKB48 but doesn’t know who Mayuki are! I really need to meet them as no place is safe! Anywhere they go Mayuki always happens! I mean they do say home is where the heart is so it makes sense for Mayuki World to follow them wherever they go but still!
Even Utage, the one place I thought was safe from Mayuki as Mayuyu seemed to be taking her job there seriously, was not spared! I am of course talking about…
Of course now that I actually have another look, it does look like unlike the other times, this time it is Yukirin who starts things off.
And speaking of this episode, is it only I that always get a smile when Ai-chan and Yukirin perform in these dance battles on the same team? I just, I am this close to starting to ship them two I swear!
But while all is good, the actual reason for this post isn’t actually Mayuki but rather, the meaning of the day before yesterday! By that of course I mean the 15th of July – a very special day as it is my Goddess’ day on which she came into being – Her Birthday! I am ashamed that I did not get to post this on that day but better late than never, right?
Before I go farther, I wish to say to all Yukirinians out there that I hope you are proud to bee a fan and if you are not, you should be! Despite everything Yukirin has reserved her spot in the history of AKB48! Sure it is not being one of the SSK Centres, or any other Centre but really, there are many of those!
What is even more important is that this memory she has created belongs to the people matter more and thus makes the achievement itself that much more important and these are the members themselves I am talking about. Yukirin has garnered so much love from the members that no other Senpai comes even close! I already said it but I will touch upon it again but whoever comes into contact with her, whoever she works with on a project or performs a stage with, those members are always usually affected by and see Yukirin differently.
This was from Shiichan herself if you think I am making it up but even then one is only selecting to ignore the evidence. I am not sure how many follow members’ lives but Yukirin is one of those members that new girls rarely look up to. After time passes, when they meet her then it starts. Think of all the Kashiwagi children (what we call members who Idolise Yukirin) – almost 70% of them did not have her as their Idol in the beginning. And yet now…
And I am going in circles, let’s take a step back in time on Friday. I think I posted last year’s over-whelming number of messages from members to Yukirin on her but if you thought that was a lot, well, try multiplying that by a factor of > 7!! NMB girls, who haven’t seen Yukirin, haven’t performed with her in two or more years, all sent Yukirin heart-warming messages. Girls from Team Bs of old from other sister groups all sent her messages. graduated members sent her messages. Poor NGT girls, who had the luck of being put with Yukirin from the get go, well, I am pretty sure the effects are plain as day! And all to these messages…
Yukirin wrote a personalised reply!!
Like, how can that not make you proud!! Oh yes, if more proof is needed, in the Documentary Book there were various Questionnaires for the members and Yukirin, by almost 40% of the votes, was the most respected member in the 48G by the other members!
We fans are only outside the lass not even looking inside but rather seeing only what is put on display. These members are in the inside. They go through the same everyday life like Yukirin does. They know what goes on in there than we will ever even wish to comprehend. I only recently got this through my thick skull because before I was actually letting what other people said about Yukirin affect me but these days, I see how meaningless those words were, how weightless.
No other member/Kami has touched so many members as Yukirin has. Be it her Kouhai or her own Senpai, everyone treats Yukirin like she was their comrade. There is no distance at all between her and the others.
The only distance that I see and feel is between Management and herself. Not Shinobu though, Shinobu is cool! And that makes me come off as being triggered but I won’t deny that conclusion!
There is more reasons to be proud of Yukirin but I am saving those for the relevant posts to come. For now don’t be brought down by the fact that Yukirin might graduate without ever dominating SSK or solo Centring an AKB single! The latter should have happened by now but I think it is safe to assume that will never happen. Hell, I can see Management approving the Mayuki graduation only because they can deny Yukirin that solo Centre!
But it doesn’t matter! Yukirin doesn’t have to be No.1! Maybe she has to if it means something special to herself but not to us, not to the members! She has already touched us. We will never forget her! The members already know her, see her for what she is and what she is capable of. So be proud!

Oh yes, this is the episode of MUSIC FAIR that aired on the same day as the SSK, hence why it has been in the shadows but calling out to all Yukirinians, if you haven’t watched it, please get out right now and watch it! Such great Yukirin shots, positions and I don’t know if the happiness just made everything that much better, the whole performances were just so great to watch!
The whole episode was dedicated to AKB and they did not even have time for the usual talk as they went straight into the medley of all voting and elections singles up to Halloween Night! As a bonus of course they also did Kimi wa Melody in different costumes!
In addition, we got to see some clips from the past SSKs including cute, cute young Yukirin when she broke the Kami wall for the others to follow suit! Girls took turns centring, with Miion taking over for Yuko as usual, Annin and Souhan for Mayuyu and sometimes Yukirin for Mayuyu as well! Sayanee centred Bokutachi wa T, Renacchi also double cantered!
All was just so marvellous but what took the cake was none other than Yukirin centring FLYING GET! It has bugged me ever since AtsuYuko’s graduation that Yukirin never took over as the Center because to me, Flying Get is Yukirin’s song! In case anyone doesn’t know, that was the single when she went from a Non-Kami to standing right next to THE AtsuYuko!
It was a moment that I shall never forget! My very first SSK I watched LIVE and I remember the screams in the crowds when Yukirin was called! That was a moment I think that shall never be beat! I don’t that even getting No.1 now would gain the same reaction now. It might come close but not to have a cigar! It was just such a magical moment!
So whenever I saw Yukirin standing on the side while others took over for Acchan I was like, seriously?!
But now, finally! We finally get it! I don’t even care that it was scraps because Mayuyu was not there! They could have easily had Annin or Souhan centre this time even without Mayuyu so this is a sure cause for FEELs and dear Readers do I have FEELs!
Forget about SSK, where the only good thing was seeing the Kashiwagi Children rank and move up (Sayaya >.<~) this right here is what has made my weekend! And it wasn’t just centring Furage, Yukirin had some great positions in this! Be it middle, back or front…Just…Hanyan~

Just…just look at them! Like, how have we not had tens of PVs of Mayuki?! It doesn’t make sense to me! These are No1 and No.2 in AKB and 2 and 3 in the whole 48 group we are talking about here! Their chemistry has been going on since the dawn of AKB so there is no way anyone doesn’t know about it! So why?
Sigh, another of the many universal questions that will never be answered. Well, at least someone tries, like giving us That Tokyo Dome Wedding!
Them two tying for 1st place (or second) or announcing graduation at the same time is probably our only chance of getting a Mayuki Single.
Anyway, I wonder what Mayuyu’s real Mom thinks of Yukirin. I wonder if they have actually met yet. Well, they did meet during Mayuyu and Yukirin’s first meeting at that train station but I am thinking these days when we can’t tell which ‘Mother’ Mayuyu is referring to when she talks about her. I can even just imagine the tension in the room with the two sitting on opposite sides of Mayuyu.
Like, can you imagine if Mayuyu wanted to do something and the two ‘Moms’ had different views of that decision? Okay, I better stop because the delusions are getting to me real hard.
