So, I just watched a new Peacock series and to confirm for the other time that I am a weirdo, I came away shipping a different ship than the actual ship that everyone is all about.

Those who know, this means that I wasn’t all that into Aura and Iris. Don’t get me wrong, they are cute and very shippable but there happened to be another ship that, despite not working out and thus could be considered delusional, I found it had more spice and when you have been a shipper for years, believe me, not just anything can cut it anymore.

Again, if you have seen the series then you know who I am on about and that is of course, Caltonia and Selena. Yeah, Aura and Iris are difficult to compete against with those names, gods, what awesome names! But Caltonia and Selena have that forbidden and age gap spice that just makes them more interesting to me.

If you know that Thai series that just ended, BLANK, Caltonia and Selena are basically like the couple in that. Caltonia is Selena’s mother’s friend and while Selena is not as young as Anueng, well, originally, yes, I am still salty about the age change, which was unnecessary given how popular the series ended up being anyway, and a tally, given that Anueng was turned into a 20 year old, Selena is not that far off. Probably about 22 or 23, given how early women gave birth back then, as seen by Aura’s sister Jula.

Aura and Iris had a GOOD END, slept together twice, and met the parents, so really, a truly healthy relationship but it just didn’t do it for me. Even without Caltonia and Selena being in this, I am pretty sure that I wouldn’t have written about this series.

Now, the series itself is very good, in fact I had pinch myself and double check to make sure that I was indeed watching a Peacock series. I just associated that streaming platform with cheap productions from experience but this series is A class! I loved it as I love many things that have no yuri in them. It really is a well made series.

That being said, I am sad about Caltonia and Selena but I guess having two lesbian couples in addition to a gay couple with one of the main characters would have been over kill. And really, all is needed is smoke and Fan Fiction will light the fire.

And let me tell you, that scene with them was fire! If Selena ended up returning the desire, Aura and Iris would have been deaded! Alas, hence why we did not get it.

But hey, there’s still a chance. Selena thinks that Caltonia was just looking for a quick one but I’m pretty sure Caltonia loves Selena. And, not to be a pitch, but Selena love interest died, after her husband stole from her and died. Might as well get with Caltonia, I mean, she’s hot the money and power! And if Caltonia can manage to express her feelings, who knows, Selena’s heart might melt.

The point is, the future is open. If the love interest had lived, I would have counted my chickens but nothing is set and Caltonia and Selena are back to speaking terms the last time we see them so…
