Butterfly [HK-Movie]

Butterfly is a really great movie that has to be seen by just about everybody. Despite being over two hours long, time passes just like that and by the end you feel like you were cheated somehow, even though the movie perfectly tied up all ends.

I was truly impressed by the story of this movie to tell the truth. Flavia, at the events of the movie, was married and had a child. But while she seemingly lived a dream life for many women, one day she meets Yip in a superstore and all her perfectly curved life of lies comes crushing down on her as secrets from her past are revealed and chaos ensues.

I am not going to go into details but I very much recommend this movie. Only, if you’re under 13, parental guidance before watching this please.

Any way, this movie is one of the rare ones with a GOOD END. Actually it would have been BEST END but Flavia lost her child to her Husband after the divorce in order to be with Yip. Was it worth it? Flavia’s happiness at the end seemed to suggest so.

After the jump is more caps from the movie. If anyone wants an in depth looks, there is a good…

Hellcats/I Like It Hot [K-Movie]

Simply…Fantastic!

Well well well, we finally get to this movie, huh? It might just be me with my usual Quantum leap issues – I have these a lot by the way. Sometimes when I perform a task, it feels vaguely familiar as if I have done the same thing before but for the life of me, I can’t seem to remember doing it ever. It’s what they probably call deja-vu but it happens to be so often that I am starting to think I am either living a double life or my time here is about up.

Scary…..

As I was saying, it feels like I’ve blogged about this movie before. It was probably on Diva’s Dimension but that blog has long since been deleted any way so no harm in blogging the movie again, right?

Right

Hellcats AKA I Like It Hot, is a 2008 release from Korea that has one of my favourite kisses in a movie [Three of them actually and all making it into that list). Better still was who was doing the kissing/being kissed. The movie follows the lives of a family of three; a mother, her teen daughter Kang Ae (Ahn Soo-hee) and the mother’s younger sister Ah Mi (Kim Min-hee – The Main Heroine, you might say). The movie walks us through these three’s lives, love lives to be precise, and since the adults are cursed to be boring, what I was most interested in, was the daughter’s part of the story.

Yes, that is Wondergirls’ Ahn So-hee I was referring to. She plays the daughter Kang Ae who falls for her best friend Mi-ran (Kang Hae-in).

Her story is what was more our cup of tea. What about the other two? Irrelevant! To this blog they are any way.

Kokkuri-san [J-Movie]

Yeah~

They sure don’t make them like they used to. It’s sad really.

Anyway, there are more versions of this movie so be careful when getting it. The one I am referring to in this post is the first one (probably) that was released in 1997. It stars;

Yamatsu Ayumi as Mio/Michiru Shimada Hiroko as Hiroko

Kokkuri-san (This Kokkuri-san) is one of those Japanese movies I love so much where characters talk less but their actions and settings on the other hand speak volumes. The relationship between Mio and Hiroko was so huge for such a little movie that I found my self being over-whelmed. Now, I will say it again just in case someone has watched it and goes, ‘what BG be talkin’ about? That movie sucked soccer-balls’. To thee I say again, I never watch anything for plot but the yuri. And my yuri levels are those that require goggles, to others any way. Very rarely do I enjoy blatant yuri, probably why I can’t into Aoi Hana. On the other hand, some times one can’t help but go full swing a la Kannazuki no Miko and Strawberry Panic. And while this has kissing, it wasn’t that extreme and Mio had to go out o her way to finally win Hiroko over which is why I love this movie so damn much.

Miao Miao [T-Movie]

Another treat from the Chinese golden year 2008 that brought us quite a couple of yuri movies. This movie was so sweet, fun and frustrating at the same time, but mostly sweet. I guess its realness was what frustrated me more because I can totally understand Miao Miao’s actions as they mostly reflect on most real world people and situations. Xiao Ai on the other hand made me wish I had a best friend, or better yet a girlfriend like her. She was just that awesome, that Xiao Ai. Even as she knew her own feelings for Miao Miao she still tried to be there for her as a friend. This movie was just so cute and feeling inducing.
