Soo-yeon and Eun-bin’s story

So, you all probably already know about this, huh? What, with all the publicity this couple got when it first hit the audiences with this drama’s episode 11 (through to 12). Seriously, that day you didn’t even need to Google their names, or the character names, all you needed was the show’s title and and almost all the first 12 pages of Google results were about these two! You would think that this was the first time we got to see a gay couple in Korean drama! Seriously Korean, have you forgotten about PotW? That was way back in 2008 and it even won awards including Best Couple by Moon Chae-won and Moon Geun-young actually! I don’t remember them getting this much attention at the time. So why now? Okay, so those two did not get to kiss but their relationship was more mature and almost did it but that may have had to do with the fact that Painter of the Wind was more mature in general.

Not that Sunam Girls isn’t that mature but even though the themes are a bit complicated, the fact that these are still students takes the seriousness out of it a bit. Oh well, at the very least Soo-yeon and Eun-bin’s story was very solid even if it was just a causality and not the main problem. Then again maybe that was a good thing. Still though, even if they weren’t the main thing in this arc (No doubt they stole the episodes, nay, the whole show really), their story was the best IMO.

Seriously though, unless I have missed a lot in these years that I have not been following K-Dramas, has it really been 7 years since we last got a couple in a Korean drama? Too bad that this was just a part of the show and not a stand-alone series. But I have a feeling that with how a hot topic this shake in the waters of an experiment it produced, who knows, we might get a spin off series dedicated to these lovely girls.

There is nothing to relate to but it is safe to say that Soo-yeon and Eun-bin are my second favourite K-drama couple after Yoon-bok and Jeong-hyang from PotW! That is still my favourite K-Drama, nay, favourite asian drama of all time even to this day! No couple will ever beat those two, not yet at least! Who knows, if Soo-yon and Eun-bin had gotten their own series, maybe they would have put up a good fight and they were great, really great, but that ending…

Sometimes an ending that doesn’t give a clear conclusion is worse than a BAD END! Sure others will no doubt see it a a positive one and in fact I too did the first time around when I wasn’t paying attention to their expressions! But after that first time, I did, I paid attention especially to Soo-yeon! She looked absolutely dead inside! There is no way we were meant us to take this the positive way! And that song that accompanied the last scenes didn’t help matters at all. It really sucks! Soo-yeon really deserved to be happy! The girls sacrificed a lot, herself really, to protect Eun-bin, the person she loves! And even after all that, she still had to suffer more because now the world had eyes on her and her life was forever changed. Eun-bin was saved but depending on how much she loves Soo-yeon, she too is going to be in a world of pain.

She has two options the way I see it, she can either decide to suffer with Soo-yeon and throw away all the hard work that Soo-yeon went through to protect her by coming out too and continuing to see Soo-yeon but no longer in secrecy. Or she could still see Soo-yeon in secret but now that Soo-yeon is under the radar, all will be watching and soon enough the two will be caught and since Eun-bin would not be prepared, the damage might be much worse than if she had come out herself. There might be other issues to consider in her case too that make her so afraid of people finding out about her.

So deep and so good their story is and this is all from what could happen after their part in the series not what did happen! The best arc in the series hands down! These two really deserve their own series that should extend past the ending of ep12 and consequently their story in the series! Despite them having no more than 15min of a two hour arc, their story feels much much longer than that. It feels like I watched a movie of them two.

But like I said, you all have probably already been acquainted with these two, YouTube is filled with their videos, all Korean sites have an article about them, facebook and tumblr, Jesus! So this post will be brief…

GAINAX? Who are yo-…Oh! You mean GAYNAX!

Yes, YES! I’m back and totally feeling like I am 16 again! Might have something to do with the fact that I just bribed the Devil to get out of hell and I am feeling as fresh as a new born!

Yes, some awesome Foo went and leaked the BvS trailer on Friday just after I had written that post! It was so instant and so unexpected that my poor heart couldn’t handle it! And I had major plans for this weekend too. Just looked into my journal to remind myself what I had planned, you know memory loss due to death! But for some strange reason the last entry was last week! Weird!

Oh well, now what I am doing is going through my CAPs folder and just picking out caps of videos I have not blogged about yet and this anime, Houkago no Pleiades, was on top of the list (sorted by Date Modified of course). And so I decided to do that one first. I also was surprised by how many things I have yet to blog about! There is like a month’s worth of posts from my CAPs folder, if I post 10 posts a week that is. Sadly can’t be that active due to college but summer is almost here (Then again I will be working full time then too so…Ah~ah).

Back to the anime at hand though, All I have to say is ‘thank you GAYNAX’! Seriously, I loved those short OVA eps from way back then about this project and even though there is a cloud in my memories which tells me that something not so nice happened, there is no doubt that Aoi (Blue haired) and Subaru (Pinku) had a great deal of moments in those four short OVAs. So much so that I was really pumped for this series even if it were only to give us those moments from the OVAs. So then, did GAYINAX deliver?

So, this is that’American Dream’ thing?

20sec, Just a mere 20s! Exactly 5s of new footage as promised (of the Batman suit) and my heart is ready to explode!! You thought I loved Superman (and Man of Steel)! Well Batman is my favourite hero followed up by Wonder Woman. Superman is the 3rd! I thought waiting for Man of Steel was torture? I knew nothing! This movie doesn’t come out until April (or was it March) next year and so far it is the most talked and hyped about comic book movie after Man of Steel (yes, people are still fighting about that movie after two years! That’s how great it is!)

But finally, finally after months of hyping with no end in sight, we finally get to see something! That something was posted by the lovely and best visual director hands down on his twitter account. It was just 20s of logos and Batman and Superman’s suits also announcing that a full teaser will be showing in iMAX theatres next Monday! Tickets were free (were as in already out!) If you want one, and that is you live in the US or want to book a flight to the US just to see a trailer in a cinema, you will have to cough up cash in the 1000s now from auction sites!

I know! It’s madness!

America! They get everything! Those lucky…Looking on the bright side, the trailer will be shown before Avengers: Age of Ultron and we here in Ireland are getting to see it earlier than in America. It opens here next week while America has to wait until May 1st! HA! Take that America! Sweet Justice (no pun intended of course)!

But that teaser though, that Batman suit! I had to re-watch that short vid until I was sure that that suit wasn’t alive and scowling down at me like the puny human that I am, not worthy of laying my eyes on it! Dear readers, I am freaking out over a costume, with no one inside it! Come Monday, or Friday if the trailer doesn’t hit the interwebs before Age of Ultron, if I see Ben Affleck in that suit staring down Supes I…

Is my medical card up to date?…It is. Good!

Guess who hasn’t’ slept in 35 hours dear Readers…Yep, that would yours truly! Just came back from work and still haven’t slept a wink! I am a walking Sasha depraved of food for a day! In other words, a walking zombie! If only Angel, nay, Goddess Krista would appear and weave some of her magic to put me to sleep!

So, why is it that I did not sleep when I knew I had work today? Well, I made the mistake of re-watching a couple of AKBINGO episodes and really, if one is going to re-watch AKBINGO, there best be Danso and since I have like, memorised all words said in the earlier Danso episodes, the best option was the latest couple of episodes with flower-boy Watanabe of course. And so I did just that, and when I got to the second part, and Seinyan appeared, I instantly remembered that I had a full series of a certain popular anime that I had yet to watch!

That happened to be Attack on the Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin, because Seinyan was Danso-ing up as one of the Elite, Levi in fact if I am not mistaken! I instantly queued up the full series after watching the episode! That was about 20min past midnight and finished the series at exactly 7 am! Then went straight into the shower and off to work I went! Yeah, you would think that I would learn from all that experience but I somehow convinced myself that I would stop half-way and have at least three hours of sleep! How naive I still am!

Yes, I just watched this anime and it was all thanks not to /u/ all those months ago trying to seduce me into watching, not the movie news, neither was it the Live Action TV series spinoff announcement but Team B’s current loli Fukuoka Seina! Speaking of Seina, while others didn’t dig her Danso, I actually quite loved it and that was even before I watched the anime! Then again that might have something to do with my love for her in general. Everytime I watch a Team B stage Seina has the most captures next to Yukirin! I don’t know what it is about her but she is so cap worthy I don’t even…

Anyway I thought that she did a good job, especially seeing as she was only 13 at the time! I was kind of pained to see her lovely wild eyebrows messed up (I love her eyebrows!) but other than that, I would so see a TV series with her as part of the Corps! She and Naanyan were compatible too, well, they still are as they perform Temo Demo together sometimes.

Anyway, the anime…The fact that I couldn’t stop to sleep speaks volumes of how I found it I think! We really need more series like these that don’t think the Universe revolves around love or whatever it is called! Best girl? Sistar, is that a tricky question?! Sasha of course! I fell in love with that girl as soon as I saw her eating that potato! You can’t believe how happy it made me to see her survive to see the end of the series! And her being a favourite of course means that I ship her with someone! The caps should speak for themselves but to those that need the word of mouth, since Krista was taken, Sasha’s dynamics with Mikasa were totally shiptastic! My goggles were cranked up to 9000 for this one! And before anyone brings it up, no, I don’t think Mikasa and Eren will be like that. I didn’t see them that way at all. Actually I ship Eren with Armin 80% more than I do with Mikasa.

The anime was good, really good! Made me cry a couple of times. Been a while since an anime made me cry but then again, I haven’t been watching a lot of anime lately so…It took me back to the good old days when an anime left a great impression on you (read feels) in the early ‘00s to ‘04s. They sure don’t make anime like they used to. Now it’s all moeshit or cash traps.

Sigh.

NMB48 11th Single – Don’t Look Back

All dem Yukirin! Maachun!! Ainyan!!!!!!

BEST! Just simply BEST!

You know, someone jokingly said that Yukirin’s position and screen-time in the Don’t Look Back single was better than her own group’s singles combined and after watching the PV and Team N’s MV, I am inclined to agree! And OMG did Yukirin slay both the cool ‘Don’t Look Back’ and the Sexy ‘Renai Petenshi’ like she had the blood of NaMBa flowing through her veins or what!!! But really, what can one expect? She is after all the Idol no Kishin! I sure hope AKS are taking notes and realising how so under-used and un-appreciated Yukirin is. All her songs are slow songs, she is always left to the back lines like she was some kind of back-up dancer! Seriously, seeing all those singles you wouldn’t think for a second that she was the No.2 of AKB48 better yet No.3 of the whole darn 48G!

She was so cool in Don’t Look Back, didn’t even look like she was breaking a sweat and of course when it comes to sexy Renai Petenshi she is gonna slay, after all, Kuchi Utsushi yo! I was right, this was the single to get and even the fact that I still struck out on getting what has to be one of the sexicoolest Yukirin CD photos to have ever graced the face of the earth

The amount of Yukirin screen time in all three of these PVs (including the dance version of Don’t Look Back) was like God food! Not to mention that this is Yukirin’s last NMB single which is really sad! Her time of going all out is already over! And I was so looking forward to seeing her interact with the new Team N! I will never see her together again with Jo-chan and Natsuko now! Baka AKS, always getting in the way of happiness!

Then there is that delicious, delicious surprise PV that hit me like a train! I was like, what’s this? There is a lot of things on this DVD! 10mins? A making of? That’s strange, those are never on the Type A (which I got). So anyway I checked it out disinterested and even when I saw Nana staring with FEELs at a photo that I gave no attention to, nothing really jumped out at me until I saw that flashback of the girls training on the track and my eyes bulged! I had spotted Maachun! I could not believe it! Then the title hit the screen and I cheered!

Sorry Mirurun but when I found out that Nana was not solemnly staring at that photo just because she broke her leg and was sad that she would not get to compete with her friends but rather that she was thinking of Maachun, even going so far as to give us cool Maachun in a flashback, everything else about this PV disappeared and all I saw was Maachun, and Nana and Shinkirou!

I am telling you, with my copy arriving and getting to watch Seishun no Lap time, add in those Draft Meeting from last year clips shown on last night’s AKBINGO, all I was seeing yesterday was AKS mistakes! Their mistake of taking Maachun out of Team N and NMB as a whole and getting the Draftees out of their Teams!!!! Doesn’t anyone in that Management see these and feel the guilty weighing on them? Don’t they see their mistakes?!!

In addition to delicious Maachun (who was missed by Milky too BTW), we also got to see Ainyan!! I think my faced melted right off with how much I was smiling when she appeared! This PV was like a gift from God and I am taking this cd, sealing it away and keeping it until the end of all time!

I didn’t even realise how much I liked Nana until this single! More specifically until the Lap time PV! Then I thought of Shinkirou and the FEELs hit me from every angle! Now of course Nana was brilliant in Don’t Look Back, nay, she shone the most but that Lap Time PV was in a league of its own! I am going to miss her!

And now Maachun has been taken out of Team B, which means the distance between her and I is increasing since I don’t watch Team A stages that often but seeing as now Team A has two of my 5 Kamis (Sakura and Maachun) and Team B has been reduced from three to one (Ikoma-kun and  Maachun out) I might be watching more Team A stages, especially if those two appear as often and really, Team B stages without Yukirin are kind of less delicious! Especially now that Sayaya won’t be there as well. Seriously, I am beginning to think that AKS and I are natural born enemies! I watched those new Draftee videos and frankly there was no one that could ever replace Sayaya! Maybe my mind will change during the actual event but I doubt it that much, now that the point behind the whole thing has been rendered meaningless by those Devils!
