If there ever was one thing that I absolutely cannot stand, is my ships being messed with!

 

Indeed, it doesn’t matter if the new couple is more substantial than the first but when I grow attached to a couple, which I often do, sometimes even before the show itself airs (Yuru Yuri darn it all) when you change something about them, then we have a major problem on our hands my friends.

You know, I should have surmised that something was wrong when Sawa-sensei didn’t up her seduction game from the last episode! OI really should have! But do you know what my yuri-filled brain thought of instead?! It was like, don’t mind it too much. Machiko is only letting Mayo know that the ball is in her court now. Machiko has made her feelings and intentions known so from now on, it’s up to Mayo to make it known that she’s game as well. And really, there was this smell in the air that just screamed of attraction. It might have just been me too but I swear Mayo looked kind of disappointed that she did not get the usual attention which continued to blind me to the truth of the matter!

Now not to say that there absolutely nothing. There is this moment  where Mayo gets up from the chair so Machiko could sit down. It was just so weird!

That scene right there! Machiko did something with her hand as she passed by Mayo, I just know it. The air was screaming of the deception of it all! Something happened there but I just don’t know what! All I know is that it was un-natural! I don’t really know what is natural for people to switch seats but this is not it! Was it the way they moved so slowly by each other?! There was a sensual feel to this scene which makes no sense but it is what it is. If you watch it again you will know what I mean.

Speaking of which, there is streaming eng subs for this by the way. You can watch it HERE. Only 4 episodes done so far though, which is actually pretty good for a dialogue filled drama like this one!

Any way, this is the last time we see Machiko until the latest episode! Apparently she took some leave due to health problems! She is still on the roster so my sinking feeling is only partially down on the way to the bottom. We learn of this info in episode 4 when Mayo enthusiastically makes her way once again into the lion’s den. I guess she had made up her mind and built up her courage to be the one to initiate the intimacy this time around, only…

 

A research student named Yaeko.

Yeah, if you raeged a little, only a little bit because I know I am the only one who obsesses over ships >_>, I won’t blame you if you frowned a bit at this! I was this close at flipping a table desk and having to cough up another 500 for a new monitor when I learned that this was not a in-placer! That’s what I call that stupid phenomena when they change people playing a character for someone else yet leaving the same character! I really, really hate that!

And so I was thankful when it turned out that Yaeko is a different character, another research student so really, it doesn’t mean she is replacing Machiko.

Whew

She might actually been around in episode one when there was a lot of people in the lab but I didn’t go back to check if she was too. She probably was. That was one bullet totally dodged! Actually, I know of this woman but I can’t remember her name. She is more familiar to me than Kashii though so I guess a few fans might have rejoiced to see her. I on the other hand, not so much.

I would have turned an eye even then but then she went and started seducing Mayo too! Like, ARE YOU FRIKKIN KIDDING ME?!! What are you saying? That every scientist in there is gay?! Or bi curious?! I mean they are into experimenting, they even do it as a career but seriously?!!

I mean okay, okay, deep breaths! There is some positive thinking to get away from this. First, seeing as Yaeko reacted almost the same way, well, lack of reaction,  she did with Machiko, this means that she has to be at the very least bi! There is no way someone who isn’t should not be that affected by these obvious come-ons!

Another is that when Machiko comes back, when not if, when she comes back and hopefully walks in on these two being all chummy, or more like Yaeko, a mere research student getting all close and personal with her Mayo-chan, she might show a bit of jealousy which when caught by Mayo might you know…bring some interesting things!

Yeah, things look…okay for now but I have hope. Bringing out my brain power, I have a few theories from episode 6 to back me up…

First of all, there is this moment where Mayo is walking around on the phones. She accidentally sees a couple kissing when she turns! She turns away quickly totally flustered.

Flustered!

We totally see the wrongness of this, right?! Mayo got flustered because of some couple kissing in public?! Who does that?! Even I don’t! Especially she should not be at all affected seeing as she has come off so far as someone who isn’t that sensitive. So, where am I going with this?!

She had to have had a flashback to that kiss! Especially if it was her first (and I am placing all my bets to that truth)! And if she did think of that kiss, then she must have felt a longing at missing Machiko!

And the other little fact is that she did not go the the lab this episode! Scratch that, she is not go back to the lab BOTH this episode and the last episode! Why? WHY?!! WHHHHHHYYYY?! I leave the answer to that question up to you!
