So, I accidentally into this Kitarie movie I did not even know existed titled JOKER GAME starring Kitarie as Chinatsu, best friends with Minako (Koike Yui) and along with a huge range of other cute girls of of whom Kana (Takatsuki Sarah) stood out because she was the choice Chinatsu made of the two possible lovers. And what a cast! This whole movie was probably made up of idols all over the place. The only three I am interested in are of course our own Kitarie, Tomato n’Pine’s Yui and bump.y’s Sarah. These three are like the big three of the movie (ignoring all the guyz, who were all dismissed any way).

Joker Game as a movie is kind of like Battle Royale in a way that young generations are tested for fitness of taking Japan in the positive direction when their time comes. Well, it tries to be but it just comes off as a complete joke! I had to admit that that first elimination (poor cute Chihiro) left a great impression on me. Yoshida Madoka really did a good job there but her hard work was made a joke of as the movie progressed and we saw others go through the same thing and truths were revealed. I feel like that the movie would have been really better if those were real deaths instead of seizures! Not that I am into gore or something but finding out that they weren’t dying kind of made those scenes seem like over-acted and wasted, especially Chihiro.

I said that it was like Battle Royale but there was no weapons involved here. All they did was play a card game and a person, or Team that ends up with the Joker gets eliminated. I say eliminated only to make it sound more..impactful. Apparently all they are doing to the losers is wiping their memories and taking them for re-training into proper adults or something stupid like that!

Now, not to say there were no deaths, because there were. Some students who refused to go to class and play the stupid game got eliminated for good…from life! It was supposed to be brutal the way they died, what with the hitting them with pipes until they stopped kicking be it girls or boys, but since it was up to the observers to let us know how brutal, their acting did not do it justice nor did the security-camera view or far-away pans help in the very least. If you are going to do it, just do it. It’s not like you can’t, you are Japan for crying out loud! Going to be brutal? Be frikkin brutal!

Also we never know what exactly happens to the winners because they just…leave! As soon as they leave the classroom, they are never seen again.

And that’s the movie in the nutshell. Now to discuss the real reason of mentioning this in the first place…

And yet another Geinin! episode that just puts a grin on your face as well some raised eyebrows. I don’t get how it’s so easy for Japan TV to let people say these words so easily on shows by girls this young, at the very least! But then they go and kill your eyes with pixels-magic! Oh well, you win some you lose some.

But NMB though. First the poor girls were forced to sit through 100 episodes of Docking where they were subjected to such mature content that shouldn’t be to girls their age, especially idols. Then again, NMB as I gathered was supposed to be more grounded to reality than the rest so I guess it’s okay? Nah! I have a feeling Mirumiru came away with some kind of mind condition from that show LOL

Any way back to Geinin, it was good to see Shuu come back since season one and it seems she is being transferred to Sayaka’s school and even joining the Comedy Club. Her smile is sure to sedate those that were Jo fans at how innocent it seems. Yes, it just seems that way because her mouth most definitely doesn’t match that smile. Then again, whose does?

Kanako also finally came on and did I mention I love Kanako’s smile? I think I did. I love the way her mouth sculpts when she smiles. The only other smile I know that rivals hers is Mei’s (Tokyo Girls’ Style). Too bad it was not present a lot this episode. Actually I don’t remember her smile at all. Hmm…

Yui-sens…oops! Yuihan is still here too and from what I heard, she is going to be a regular for the rest of the season. Very nice news for someone I won’t mention, right Kragorin? Oh, my bad!

Wait, what?

Oh Ariyoshi AKB, please never change your awesome ways. I beg of thee. Thank you very much KKS, though you might get the blunt of the sword, you are so much more interesting than some of your Senpai. More people need to watch these shows to get to know you better, even though the chances of you replacing their Oshii is slim to none. But you can still get new fans who will be yours and yours alone.

Times like this I miss Shuukan AKB. It was the one regular show that took the big members and put them through a grinder reminding them that they are the same as their replacements/KKS. AKB to XX is some what similar but it just doesn’t deliver the same punch. I don’t remember the last time I watched a XX episode, Oh wait, I remember it was that Special where all the Teams got together.

Which reminds me. We haven’t gotten a Team Battle since the new shuffles. I bet if Shuukan was still running, we would have gotten a special of Team competition but now. We need to build Team spirit with all these shuffles going on and what better way than an all-round sports competition!

Going back to Ariyoshi, this episode, THE LATEST EPISODE FOR THIS WEEK!, I was very happy to see Mitsuki-chan again. I had kind of missed her on this show. So did I Dead Eyes and she did not disappoint. Her eyes are as dead as usual LOL. Then they also had to throw in Annin and I was already hooked on this episode even before we got to the actual show.

As for the real show, things were entertaining too. Not only did we get the Lady Boss we also got that Dude. Two Broadway wannabes at the same time. Add in a double dose of yuri and nothing can ever go wrong.

So, been told I shouldn’t expect JKT yuri..

So then, what exactly is it I’m seeing in these caps?!

I mean I had already given up of them since one can go so far with many things in the way (language, quality, society) but it seems yuri is there. I mean it won’t be extreme to the AKB usual standards, meaning no kisses even through a barrier the size of a mattress between their lips but I am one of those who prefer subtext to plate-served yuri.

If anyone is following them, don’t give up on the yuri is all I’m saying. Just put on your goggles and you should be alright ^^

From the few comments I’ve read on my last post, it seems JKT is in a place very restrictive for a group related to AKB to thrive. I mean if many things are going to be changed from their usual formula, how is this still a part of AKB other than name branding and maybe size?

I raided youtube for some material and downloaded a lot of performances and some TV shows of them and I can see what you guys (who sent the lovely comments) are talking about. Too restrictive it seemed to me. If JKT48 thrives, it will prove that AKB can go on even if they lose their charm from the beginning and just turn into main-stream idols. Their numbers will still see them at the top as fans get wider variety of Oshi-pool to choose from.

There are personal qualities I love AKB for that SNH and JKT don’t have and I fear that the bigger AKB grows, the closer they get to turning into just any other Idol group just bigger in size. We can already see that there are groups with smaller numbers that many people prefer over AKB like MomocloZ and the young ones on the rise like TGS. It will only take 1 and everything will crumble. And when it does, I will go down with them too because other groups don’t do it for me. They just don’t have the AKB touch. Sure they might be better singers and dancers but if I was in for the music, I would have stuck to the US. All other Idol groups are like US singers but in groups of cute little girls! Think a young Britney, Christina, Beyonce and Madonna coming together to form a group!

And I just totally forgot the point of this post. Oh wait…

Welcome aboard, YukaMarina

So, after seeing those interesting HUMPING gifs of this show on tumblr…BTW, I went out in search of this AKB show I hadn’t known even existed when it’s been over a year since it started airing, just to find that one episode. I haven’t found that particular episode I was searching for so if anyone know where I can find it, please help me out. It’s the one with the girls doing it on the floor. I don’t even remember which girls it was. And now I realised I did not even save the darn gif. Oh well, those who saw that particular episode will know what I am referring to, right?

Any way,  I really love these off-the-record AKB shows. You see the girls as  their real selves, well, as real as they can get. They just appear a bit more natural on these types of shows where there isn’t much pressure on them. For example Tano Yuka in this particular episode (which is the latest as far as I am aware). I did not think she was this kind of girl but really, I never thought about her before. But since that extra footage on the 2nd Utagassen DVDs, I was kind of pulled in by her.

From there I as I had just decided to look out for her, she started having a lot of screen-time on Kousagi Dojo. But that show despite being labelled as having the truth vibe, it’s still fake as hell to me. It did not help much except give me some HD eyegasm of Yuka in all her dimple-faced glory. Last time I checked, she was training up to enter a Street Dance Comp.

It was when I saw her here on Anta Dare that I began speculating her personality and I gotta say that I loved what I saw. She isn’t perfect and her serious look, a la Tomochin is bound to get her some antis but I actually love it on here whereas I couldn’t Tomochin. Tomochin is much better with a smile on her face and she can do it, why she goes for the other look is beyond me. Lately she is more happy and smiles a lot even in those accidental shots which suits her way better I think. That alone is bound to get her more fans or those that left back to her. I am sure of it.

From what I gathered after watching this episode, Yuka is just one of those people whose personalities get mistaken due to judging by looks. You can’t tell what’s inside until you talk to her. Watching her from a distance, you see her and think, wow that girl looks like she could be a major grade a biache. But when she opens her mouth, that voice is the first think that slaps you silly, then the way she speaks her words kick you in the butt next. She is like T-ara’s Jiyeon in that way. They both have the bitch look yet sound anything but and are anything but that as well.

She mentioned too that she has been mistaken in this way before and I have to say that in the beginning of the episode I too was raising my eyebrows from time to time but then by the end of it, I was so won over my her I already even ship her.

Now let me tell you something here. For me to ship someone I have to be really into one of that pair. I don’t just pull them out of nowhere just because. Sometimes ships will die when they get to my dock because I don’t into either of the halves.

Now, not that I’m saying I don’t like Marina because she too got to me in this episode. I love girls with minds that work that way. Her skit where they had to play a role of a young sister getting back home to their brother was just…wow! Girls who think on their feet are the best! As Yuka is the opposite of this, I found they made a great combination which is why I jumped the gun. Yuka is fragile and quite negative, as I gathered, while Marina is so positive and bright-spirited that I just could not ship! And Marina doing what I was hoping for her to do, that is to compliment Yuka and be the protector, was just what the doctor had ordered.
