I am sorry but comparing AKB48’s Haru single (So Long) with Nogizaka46’s similarly themed single
‘Kimi no na wa Kibou’, there just IS a gap so wide one can only shake their heads because it is the same writer for both groups!

First AKB is getting slaughtered by the sisters and now even Nogizaka is making them eat dust! Seriously, I am starting to get embarrassed by most of things AKB. I can’t even remember the last time I enjoyed an AKKBINGO episode, went bazonkers over a single or throw my money at the TV just because AKB48 is on it!

Those days are long gone. I think even AkiP himself is giving up on them because what other explanation is there for them to suck while their sisters and rival are only going up, up and away?! I have listened to So Long in full, I think only twice, or thrice at most! But Kimi no na wa Kibou on the other hand, damn girl, not only does the song touch me deeply compelling me to replay it and shed a tear, but the girls execute it so well that….

OMG you guyz, Kragorin, you have to watch their LIVE version of it where they didn’t use BGM in it except the piano…

I sure hope the AKB girls watched this because…I mean I know it wouldn’t change anything since they aren’t in charge but…Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

And since we are comparing singles, let’s not forget the couplings….SHAKISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Kimi no na wa was combo breaker, then SHAKISM is the ultimate move, pulled off as a finisher! So Long stood no chance! First AKB single I didn’t buy since I became a fan!

And let’s not even go into the beauty of the PVs! I think everyone here knows of AKB QUALITY when it comes to their PVs, which is still, even at this moment, a mystery to me. I now have no choice but to believe that they actually hire terminators who specialise in turning things ugly! So, let’s not go there. Needless to say, Nogizaka wins in Quality hands down to.

If only all the time wasted on So Long was instead donated to SHAKISM….

Just kiss, marry and have grand kids already, damn it!

I really, really, love these two a lot! Look at all that sexual tension! I swear I thought they were going to kiss on stage right there! For sure in addition to being a moment for the history books, it would have been the very last for many shippers out there!

Seriously, putting these two together is like placing a bunch of grenades in a sandbox! Look at the absolute terror on the poor KKS’s face! The poor girl probably thought they were gonna beak out in a fight! We of course know that ain’t true, well, if it’s a fight, it is of the other kind…you know…

Seriously though, I can’t have enough of how Maachun seems to get the best (our worst most of the time) from Saya-nee so effortlessly! I would actually stake my life on saying that they are the best pair of pals in Project48!

As to what lead to this naked flame being in the same space as flammable gas, it’s because Milky was missing from this performance. As to why that has anything to do with this, well, here is another thing why I love NMB48.

Oh Lord,

Okay, I finally caught up to the latest episode on Sasami-san and God…I can’t believe I was wasting my time on KyoAni when SHAFT was also around. I shouldn’t have doubted them. I mean, it’s not their fault that the monogatari series sucks, (well it doesn’t, but it does) and it also isn’t their fault as well that the bloggers I frequent seem to have a thing against yuri because none of them mentioned anything that would get the masses of the community to seek out the series like rabid dogs!

I didn’t expect anything more from the two but Sasami and Kagami get even better as time goes on. By episode 11 the line between friendship and love was already blurred to me. I really don’t care for romance so it’s not like I am deluding myself into thinking that they are getting into that territory. Actually, maybe I am a sadist but I prefer things to remain in the grey like that. To always push the button but not too far to be boring.

As I said in the first post, I went into this series not for the yuri but for the futaloli Jou-chan. As expected I quickly fell in lust with her thanks to her character. Since I am covering two episodes (10 and 11) I decided to post twice on the same episodes because things would be complicated otherwise. Also I want to define a line that will make sure there is no threesome going on. I absolutely loth threesomes. If I posted everything together this would turn into a threesome and I couldn’t handle that. Not that there is competition because as of episode 11, Sasami clearly lays the facts down of the table. She made her choice.

And so, I am tackling Sasami and Kagami first then I will cover my awesome futaloli.

Sasami & Kagami (Sasagami?)

I gladly take all the heat you wish to send my way after I confess that yes, I just started watching this show when it’s like, on episode 11 already! I actually started on it when it first aired since this is SHAFT we are talking about here, and since this is not a harem (at least I think it isn’t), I figured why not? Let’s put this onto the list of pre-screening. That list was actually pretty huge, it had Tamako, Vividred, Yama no, Mangirl, Love Live, Senran Kagura, Sukunai 2, Minami-ke and Sasami-san@Ganbaranai obviously. Guess how many made me get to episode 2? You already know the answer to that. AKB0048 is on my very-to-watch list but since I am waiting for the BDs of season 1 to be subbed so I can start from the beginning, all I am doing now is collecting every episode so that when the time comes, I am marathoning the gods out of it!!!

So, what made me decide to get back to Sasami-san after all this time? Simple actually. While I was lurking at one of my favourite bloggers (Kurogane) hood, I saw a line that totally whipped me silly and fished me out of the waters…

Like…WHOA!

That was from episode 10! So you must imagine how fast I dissed everything I was planning to do and went to the Tokyo Library to grab every single episode of Sasami-san. You see, it wasn’t even the yuri that got me watching this again but girl, am I ever glad I did. I mean I haven’t even gotten to the episode that forced me back into the show and I am already splitting jaws!

Okay, I am not going to even try to understand the plot of this show and who is what in it because my mind simply cannot keep up (City of gods? Stronger gods control weaker gods? Amaterasu the meanest muthafakkar around? Onii-chan is the wielder of Amaterasu’s power? The power that belonged to Sasami until a few years ago? But it turns out that Oniichan didn’t actually have the power in th first place and Yagami Onee-chan is actually the real Amaterasu and gave her power to Sasami? So what, is Sasami now the strongest fakka around?)

And so, I choose to stick to what I know and are most interest in. The Yuri, or to those nay-sayers, beautiful friendship. Though I saw signs from the earlier episodes (I cheated okay? I was already watching out for Sasami/Kagami which is why I picked up the vibes way earlier) but episode 5 is where things get interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever taken so many caps of an episode like I did the 5th episode of Sasami-san. I had to eliminate a lot (almost half) of the caps for this post but mistake me not, I kept everything for the pleasure of nexus7ing in my leisure time.

Actually, practically speaking this episode could be summed up in one simple line.

Sasami and Kagami become friends.

Nothing too otherworldly interesting, am I right?

Despite that simple truth, I don’t think I remember seeing an episode of two people becoming friends and moving me as much as this single episode did. Any other relationship would have taken a full arc to pull this amount of feels from anyone watching as two people become friends.

I became silly, I laughed, I cried and I got tots pissed off all in the course of one episode at a character that is already one of the two favourites. No other episode has ever done that to me!

KyoAni can fail to deliver for all I care because who gives a tick about romance when SHAFT delivers friendship like this!
