Bad Guys are Good guys
Boring Charas are Actually Badasses
Limbs are flying…
Heads are rolling
And people are getting DELETED!!!!
What a way to end an episode dear Animators, what a despicable way! It’s like they are going out of their way to squeeze as much despair from us viewers as possible. In fact I won’t be surprised if they crank it up to 11 next episode still. Jesus people, give us a break here. There is like, only two episodes left and even if you give us a happy last 4 minutes, I doubt they will make up for all the despair that’s happening throughout the series.
Sigh
I think I made a mistake in revisiting the OVA right before writing up this post because it increased the time I needed to get the thing done. As to why, it’s because my spirits being shattered after watching episode 6, lurking in my dark corner until I was right again to face the world, then watching the OVA and seeing Mato and Yomi so happy. I almost got my spirit back but then I had to re-watch the 6th episode to collect caps and I was once again in a slump. I swear seeing the TV and the OVA, apart from the characters, not even that at this stage, they are two completely different dimensions. So if anyone wants their souls back by the end of the TV, go watch the OVA. It will be very good for you. I promise you.
Interestingly, I had a dream about BRS last night. As with many other dreams, it didn’t make much sense but it was clear enough for me to remember bits of it. Mato was back in the real world but things weren’t back to normal. Yomi still didn’t remember her and Mato was as miserable because of this as expected. The Ether world also might have merged with the real world somehow because Mato could ‘transform’ into BRs to fight monsters from the Ether world that had somehow made it into the real world.
For some reason, though it might be because that was her first time, which I doubt, Mato didn’t change into BRS right away and it took her despair building up as she thought about Yomi that she began, in instances to change into BRS. First she turned super Mato, then a kind of mirage with BRS’s silhouette surrounding her with a pale bluish glow. Finally, she turned full BRS Mato. She visited Yomi’s home often and in fact they seemed to get on better than before, well, Mato and Yomi’s Mom that is, because Mato could take baths in their house and all that. while Yomi was like a stranger to the two.
Yomi didn’t seem to remember many things, in fact not quite her mother as well who seemed to be hiding things from Yomi, well not hiding but not being able to answer the many questions Yomi had. Despite not having memories about anything, Yomi seemed very much interested in Mato as she seemed to stalk her whenever she could, like glancing into said showers and all that. She was probably feeling a need to know this girl who had taken it upon herself to stick close to Yomi whenever possible.
And here endeth the dream.
Not much sense, I know but it made be question the ending of the TV series. Will they leave Yomi with amnesia like that as Mato tries to build new ones with her? I don’t know and I am not too sure I like it either.
Anyway let’s moving on to the episode.
~
Is that BGS’s hand?
Instant regeneration? That’s cheating!
What, she wasn’t crazy enough?
Let’s start with the Ether world by stating the simple fact that BRS, nay, IBRS is so crazy she’s crab-crazy. I mean, the girl went and not only skewered herself under the rain of swords and many other kinds of weapons, I saw some chains in there as well so it’s safe to say weapons of her fallen opponents? Anyway she not only crucified herself (It really didn’t seem to be BGS’s doing at that moment) to get more power but she didn’t give a tick anymore to what happened to her own body. Not that she gave any before but it was less so now, what with that arm scene and all. Either way we got ourselves one gore opening there no thanks to IBRS. That will teach you to go killing your future lovers and all that!
As for BGS, even though I know now that she is just another victim of love in the real world, I am still baffled by where her badassadness from episode 2 went the hell off to! She went out faster than all the ones that came before, for crying out loud, even CHT (meh, what the hell) spent two whole episodes fighting BRS. Sure she landed hits on IBRS but it’s not like she was trying her hardest to avoid getting damaged. She was at that level that didn’t even require one dodging after all. A limb rendered useless? Bah, remove that useless burden completely by ripping it off its hinges, why the hell not! I mean BGS took to the scene like a Boss in episode two and yet she didn’t even last minutes with IBRS before she started hiding being wall of minions! At least long neck-kuns of Dead Master posed a threat.
BGS, I am very disappoint!
But, that might have been because of IBRS being on a completely different level. Even as mind-crazy as she should have been, her combat game was a move ahead of BGS, always. Just when you thought BGS had the round in the bag, turns out IBRS had a trap card waiting to cover for her miss. That girl, me thinks, she’s had an opportunity to have Jasmine tea with the King of Games. But while IBRS didn’t give a tick about her injuries, ripping off her own arms and all, as stated before, poor Mato was taking all the suffering while trapped within IBRS’s mind. The screams of agony in this series are starting to give me Homurunightmares.
But even within my mind thinking that IBRS and BGS getting it on would be the best thing ever, before we got to see STR’s fabulousness, their fight left things to be desired. CRT made BRS bleed pretty good, BGS made her lose a limb and finally STR came and took names like nobody’s business but their fights with BRS just don’t feed the soul as Dead Master’s. When these two fight it’s like…like nothing else at all. And when I went and re-watched the OVA, their TV fight seemed even less ‘exciting’ compared to that one. It might be mainly because of Dead Master’s way of fighting but these two become different when they fight each other. I just can’t put my finger on it. I am sure another fight that would come close would be BGS VS STR. Does this make sense to anyone but me? I hope so…
Back to BGS, she does takes the cake though for being the first one to survive a be-heading, and from a crazy IBRS no less. This of course could not have been possible had it not been the sign from God in the form of STR and also some interference from subconscious Mato. But really, if anyone needed be-heading and a reset of views, BGS/Saya was definitely first on the list so seeing her being spared really makes this series that much crazier than it already is. But she did survive and it was thanks to STR for finally deciding to take a break from her day job as a janitor and try out some other activities, like, maybe changing her drink from redbull to ‘morning rescue’?
I wasn’t that impressed with the way she took to the scene though. Bumping into IBRS? She should have taken a better entry like say, Bruce Lee’s flying kick or the legendary nonsense punch to the schnozzle – but bumping? Really? Though the fact that I had just previously seen her drag off Dead Master’s cold body, no doubt to dump it in that bottomless pit, I was already having a STR frown upon my face. Actually I was half expecting IBRS to teleport right in front of STR right there and then to stop her from taking her wife’s body away. Too bad that didn’t happen! And while we are on Dead Master’s body, I wanted to believe that during that crazy hit from BGS that blew everything away, when we were shown a glimpse of Dead Master laying there, lifeless, I wanted to believe that IBRS was blocking her body from the gusts and that was why it didn’t get blown away like the trash it was, to STR anyway. IBRS finally giving a tick to what happens to Dead Master now?
Too much wishful thinking I know.
Anyway STR comes to BGS’ rescue and seeing her to be a force not to be messed with, I was left in confusion as to why BGS/Saya was too desperate to save her, assuming it was the one she was referring to. One would assume the weak are the ones that would require saving, usually, right? STR sure seemed quite capable of taking care of herself here. Could it be that those were just personal desires she pushed onto Yuu/STR/Whoever? She did say after all that she had made a big mistake towards this person she had thought she was helping/saving.
STR is turning out to be a hard piece to digest for IBRS though but I see no victory for her. Well, unless they have finally given up on the despair and starting with sparing Saya, STR is going to win too and then we will have our happy ending with her helping Mato and the others to their normal selves. It is possible but I don’t think they will go for it. It seems I am wrong whenever I want something personal to happen so this won’t either. STR is gonna lose and some other crazy shit will happen and then they might make it an excuse to bring in more characters (WRS anyone?).
And as for STR, what is she actually? Forgetting the other side of this coin for now, STR seems to be a kind of ultimate being from the Ether world. I wouldn’t call her a god yet because all she has done so far is on par with the others. She has a layer but so did the others. She can manipulate it just like the others did. Actually, she seems like just another Ether world being. It is when Yuu gets into the mixture that things go out of whack! I think we can all conclude that the Yuu Saya first met was not completely human and there is no doubting that the Yuu of present is very different from the Yuu of past as Saya made that clear. So, when did the ‘switch’ happen? How? Who is who? Usually Saya would have met human Yuu before meeting E-Yuu. So did R-Yuu come after E-Yuu? Why? How? I don’t get anything.
Making me even more confused is the fact that Yuu and STR (E-Yuu) don’t seem to be that connected, even though R-Yuu is obviously connected to the Ether world seeing as she could take Mato’s mind over there at will. If they were connected, R-Yuu would have been able to know what had happened to Mato because STR was unmistakeably watching the happenings of the Ether world yet R-Yuu didn’t know what was wrong with Mato. This cancels out the R-Yuu and STR being one and she found a way to create a whole different being to live in the real world. If this is so, it makes me all the more supportive of R-Yuu getting a happy end with Kohata-senpai when everything is settled. She is just too nice to not have anyone now that we see how little Saya thinks of her. She is all for STR/E-Yuu after all. She probably still gets wet herself thinking of those days gone by at her first meeting with a very wet Yuu walking about in only her suku-mizu!
I am getting pulled into the real world so I might as well go there but before that, let’s conclude the Ether world by applauding it for bringing the best action of the year so far. The power-levelling shonen animes currently running have nothing on the short combat sequences of the Ether world. Unless Fate/Zero steps up its game come last half of the series next month (Oh shi…it’s that soon?) BRS is taking the trophy for best action sequences for the first half of the year, and probably the rest of the year (Only second to A’s Movie 2nd).
Now for the Real world,
How romantic
It’s like a scene out of a soap drama
Seriously…
I remember scene like this from the OVA like it was yesterday.
Oh wait…
I am pretty sure I had lots to say about this episode’s happenings there as it had more drama than the Ether world, more than usual actually (lots of Yuu /u/) but the happenings of the last minutes of the episode totally wiped my mind of the rest. Well, there was one scene that no matter if I tried I couldn’t get rid of.
Seriously, what’s with this series and far pan insinuations of kisses? It’s like everyone is getting some, well, except poor Yomi. Seriously, she seems to be the odd one out as if they are trying to punish her for hogging all the fun in the OVA. That would actually explain why Mato is suffering just as much right now! That or working as an Underworld god requires one to have ultimate experience in despair because really, The top Dude down there doesn’t want one who knows not of real pain to work for him in punishing the evil-doers in hell for him, right?
Right
Also, having formed this badass image of Saya/BGS for myself, I was kind of disappointed to learn that she was just another crazy lesbian in love just like the rest. Younger Saya was fun to watch though as were her adventures with E-Yuu, well, the parts that I remember any way.
As to why I forgot most of the episode…
Why, Yomi, why?!
The scene of an indifferent Yomi deleting Mato from her life as easily as one deletes Junk mail was somehow much more disturbing than the happenings in the beginning of the episode. I mean, ripping off arms? That’s so easy even crabs do it all the time.
See?
Yomi erasing Mato’s folder was much more excruciating than when BRS killed Dead Master. If that was pain to the heart, this was pain to the very soul.
Seriously, I wasn’t really worried before but I am very much so now.
Yomi…DELETED Mato – I just can’t even grasp the concept of this truth!
No matter the awesomeness of the fights next episode, and as much an action fan as I am, I have a feeling I am going to fast-forward through that pointless crud just to get to Yomi and whatever comes in the form of Mato next episode. I know nothing but pain waits, probably, but I just have to see what they do about Yomi erasing Mato! That is just going too far!
This is gonna be one painful week I just know it!
Well then, until next time…

Nothing new to add here. I was happy with the flashback confirming Saya and Yuu as an item, sucks for senpai though.
My head hurt so much I had to rant in my native tongue, badly. C’est la vie mon ami. This show intentionally wants to go over the top week after week. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to the viewer…except haters, they’re blind and ignorant.
Guess I’ll have to wait till the RAW is upped and rush to the Yomi-ness. I guess this goes to show cellphones really are evil. I mean, did Yomi HAVE to apologize for beating the crap out of her phone with the pillow last time by deleting all data of her current lover? DOOD! Harsh mind wipe.

In Master Yoda voice…
“So Much Suffering”
March 14, 2012 at 22:15
It is funny how we began this series all happy, well except towards Kagari and now we are so very not happy, yet we are looking forward to more, it be grief or happiness.
Looking back now, I am starting to think that we were too hard on Wheels, huh?
March 14, 2012 at 21:40
Well, remember, when someone kills your counterpart in the Ether world, yourself in the real world loses all their grief…
conclusion of this anime: all grief comes from friends!!!!!!!
solution: become an introverted withdrawn otaku and live the rest of your short life fat
P.S. I WAS RIGHT ABOUT SAYA WASN’T I!?!?! WASN’T I RIGHT!?!? ADMIT IT!!! gawgeaehahahahrehrehahfdg

You indeed were right about Saya.
I hereby recognise your knowledge of the force, dear Mushlyrulez ^^
And if you read the subs on the cap where Yomi deletes Mato from her phone, you will see it says that “You can’t survive on feelings like kindness alone” In other words, only happiness doesn’t make a fulfilling life so I guess we have to suffer before we are happy!
They better deliver the medicine later on though or heads will indeed roll!

I look forward to your live reactions of episode 7.

And they didn’t even have to contract with you.
Wait
Are you jelly, QB?
