After hard promises of ‘no romance’ and ‘yuri-gal wannabes’, I decided to check out this so called suspense anime of the decade.

Surprisingly, I managed to get through the whole 9 eps but at least the suffering wasn’t in vain. I found a few interesting things…^^

You know how camera’s like to take off when the MCs are having some kind of boring talk in order to focus on other totally un-related scenes?
Well, it was interesting when the girls above would pop up in most of them. They felt like some kind of filler lesbian couple or something.
I am starting to get attached and if they survive the next two episodes, I might even just learn their names off.

Good to hear you swallowed your pride and gave this one a shot. I see you immediately noticed the background lesbians like any true nation member should easily be able to spot. You even took it a step further with background girls 3 and 4.
Hopefully Drama Girl 2 didn’t die in that car crash. Drama Girl 1’s NEET must have either been working on a horror VN, watching eroge or visiting my blog before dying.
Wow, you’re even trying to ship Mei and Angry Tails? I salute you for your dedication to the cause dood. But let’s be honest here, the show wants to pair up Mei with Male Lead for some dumb reason.

Yeah, I ws being foolishly optimistic in hoping she’d survived. Man this “curse” is taking away lives as quick as Battle Royale 1 did, yet it’s STILL not as creepy as BRS TV. BRS TV has definitely scared me and shocked me way more than Another. At least Another’s living up to its suspense/thriller hype. It fails as horror though.

I’m kind of glad the Background Couple has kind of disappeared off the show. I always had a fear that they would get some focus, and then they would be killed at the end of the episode. This way at least the Nation can always imagine that they survive and live long and happy lives if they don’t come back.
As for the Drama Girls, I guess I was too focused on the doom that I knew was coming for them to notice, but now I can see it quite well. Honestly I want Drama Girl 01 to survive more then ever and then they pledge to be together… and die together if such is fate.
I could honestly see both for the Background Couple and the Drama Girls, first after they have run as far away from Yomiyama as possible, each couple trying to live each day not worrying about the curse and just focusing on their love, since they could die at any time.
As for Anger Tails and Mei, I honestly don’t see it. Have they actually even spoken directly in show? More importantly have they talked about anything not related to the curse and/or the male lead? Mei has more chemistry with the other girls in the art club, which I really wanted to see more of. Hell it was pleasant surprise that no only did the rest of the school not pretend Mei didn’t exist, but she had friends too.

Did a little digging. Girl 01’s name is Ayano while Girl 02’s name is Yumi by the way. I have not found a translation yet of the names of the Background Couple. The official site does have a class roster in Japanese, but the site also has possible spoilers.

Actually I did some double checking and Girl 01’s full name is Ayano Aya and Girl 02 is Ogura Yumi.
Also I did find the names of the Background Couple. The long brown haired girl is Kanaki Anzu while the short haired girl is Matsui Aki.

Seems fans don’t like it that much.
But if it had only come before Madoka, this would have made a name for it’s self.
That third episode ending almost made me gasp. Almost. Too bad I had already given the feeling I would have to Mami-san.
And despite it’s genre, another doesn’t twist the heart like BRS is doing at the same time.
I guess watching Another is like watching real world news.
