- Could you pilot a robot for us Madoka? Never seen one before but what the hell…let’s do this.
??
Meet Kyouno Madoka – A Girl that will do anything for anyone without hesitation. Even a request as absurd as piloting a robot! Nope, I wasn’t making that up.
First of all, I have to complain how so cheated I was by that prologue.
Here I was expecting some destined meeting between Madoka and a mysterious drowning girl who she saves by that precious mouth to mouth. Only the mysterious girl really was mysterious and all kinds of irrelevant to the story (at least at the moment) and as if that wasn’t enough, there was no kiss of life too.
I was Disappoint!
But at least something else happened to cancel out this disappointment, well tried, and that is that I was kind of wrong about Lan (Fin E Ld Si Laffinty). I am liking her character already and the way her relationship is set out to be with Madoka. Lan is an alien which means she doesn’t possess all the human qualities. So it is going to be fun watching her pressing all Madoka’s good buttons in future episodes like how (in the teaser for ep 2, yeah I know, she demands Madoka to make her dinner, to which Madoka questions since when was she Lan’s waifu, to which confuses Lan…well…we shall have to wait and see).
Any ways episode 01 introduces Lan and Madoka and Madoka gets to ride a robot for the first time and beating an enemy with lots of experience with a special Germany suplex move. I guess all that helping out in those school clubs is going to pay off during her battle with the enemies.
While Madoka is so eager to pilot a robot, since she was saved by one from drowning when she was younger, her cousin (whom she refers to as her big sister instead for some reason) doesn’t seem to want Madoka piloting any robots. I have a hunch that the reason might have something to do with that childhood memory of Madoka’s and her parents as well but I am jumping gun here so I will shut up about it.
As for Madoka, I like talented girls and girl, is she talented. I mean she’s gotta be a genius if she is being recruited by every other club in school. She seems to have the spirit of warriors as well as she doesn’t seem to be afraid of many things. I have a feeling though that by the end of the series, this image of hers will be completely shattered by then…and I gotta stop assuming things, like, right now!
If the OP and every other info on the story is any indication, Madoka and Lan are gonna be a tri-force with one other we have yet to meet but judging from the preview, we will next episode. I am really hoping that she turns out to be who Madoka saved at the beginning of the episode from drowning though i really doubt it. That girl looked young and had a floating ring so chances of it being the third babe are like les than 2%.
This means there is going to be a three-way view on the relationships which bums me a little since I am so not into threesomes. If the third girl turns out to be a third wheel (a la Mami-san) I will ship Lan and Madoka since I like lan’s character but if the third girl trumps Lan’s character, well, things will be hard. I guess we shall just have to wait and see.
There is something that worries me about this series though and that’s the enemy! The series is treating their villains (at least I think they are) like how they do it in Pretty Cure series. In other words, the villains got their story which I see being touched upon as the series progresses and with Madoka’s Mother Teresa like ways, I have a feeling she will be turning them over to the good side (well some of them). Normally this wouldn’t be so bad except in this case, the villains are all good-looking boys!
Damn, actually discussing this makes me even more worried! I knew there would be a catch with three heroines in a robot anime! Oh Please God, don’t let Madoka fall for one of these dudes! I beg of you!
As for the yuri, nothing major happens in this first episode except Madoka’s Nee-san telling her to strip and then staring at her ass…ahem…Okay, she was only checking something but we are only human, our minds get carried away sometimes. Another moment was Lan delivering Madoka’s missing uniform (more like stolen. Oh Lan!) After rescuing the drowning girl, Madoka found her uniform missing (that she had left on the shore). It was delivered to her at school by Lan. Lan who started to strip suddenly in front of Madoka only to give the clothes she took off to her. Talk about personal delivery! And is there going to be lots of stripping in this series? I hope so. Another kinda gay moment was in the preview with Lan thinking Madoka her waifu!
So looking forward to the next episode…
