Dear Kinoshita, Y U so Awesome?!

I spent a whole lot of time trying to decide the title for this post. I thought of other titles like, NMB48 doesn’t do MOE, attack of the MOEkko and MOE shit but alas…I decided to settle for that one after I saw that cap of Saya-nee.

In case it needs explaining, NaniNade is my shortened version of ‘Naniwa Nadeshiko’, one of the three on-going NMB48 TV shows, the others being ‘Docking48’ and ‘NMB48 no Kagai Jugyo’.

I have tried, Oh have I tried, to ignore the ridiculousness awesomeness of NMB48 but this was just the last straw!

If anyone is paying attention to my posts somewhere else (nihongogo in particular) they will probably know of my growing interest in NMB48. I mean, low number idol groups are one thing but to get instantly hooked on a over 40 member  group is something. I mean even then when I just got into AKB48, I found it incredibly tiresome that there were so many members and to tell the truth, even now there are AKB48 members that I have no interest in whatsoever. NMB48 on the other hand…It’s all I can do to not like a member (e.g Jo). There is this air about the whole group that just makes me want to forget the other two even exists (We all know what’s happening with SDN48, right? So it needs not mentioning.)

I mean others can argue all they want as they spam NMB48 but to me, taken as whole groups, NMB48 sinks both AKB and SKE! No other group do I watch their stages and feel like re-watching it just that second as I did NMB48’s first! Not only are they in almost perfect sync as they dance (with smooth flow to boot) but their combined voices are such a pleasure to listen to I feel like my ears are melting! No, seriously! NMB48 is that good! Now this is Team N alone as I haven’t had the chance to watch the 2nd Gen Members’ Stage yet but I doubt they will be that different since they seem to be the same personality-wise, and yet another thing I love about NMB48 members, as Team N and 1st Gen members.

But I will do a separate post on NMB48 members some other time. This time I just wanted to talk about the latest episode of Naniwa Nadeshiko. In this show, a few selected members, usually 7-9, face challenges in all prefectures of Japan. For example they tried eating spicy foods, fed favourite zoo animals, challenged calories and so on.

This time though things went a little different. Since it was the first appearance of one Kenkyuusei member ‘Kinoshita Momoka’ on this show, the episode was dedicated to her and her hobbies.

Kinoshita is a huge pervert Otaku!

Any who, to welcome her among the denizens, this time the girls are going to battle it out for the MOE and Cosplay Queen title.

Battle 1: Moe-gags

 

Milky’s moment of MOE was when she played with the stethoscope and made me listen to how fast I was making her heart go!

Aaaaahhhhhhhh!

Really, Milky screams MOE even just breathing so this was a breeze for her really.

I mean look at Kinoshita’s reaction…

Not to be outdone, Ainyan’s MOE scene was when she accidentally made eye contact with me in her make-up mirror!

Oh haru…Poor poor Haru!

Here is the thing, Haru and Saya-nee (and many other NMB girls) really hate that Moe-shit! And so when Haru FAILed here, she was so crushed she even broke down in tears. She would rather have died than do it one more frikking time!

Well, at least Mirurun was there for her!

Seriously, she wasn’t all talk. I mean a tsundere meganekko and a catgirl…Seriously what?!!

Mirurun’s moment of MOE was when she practiced for our first kiss on her stuffed animal!

Oh yes!

I would ‘gyuu’ her if you know what I mean…

It would be much better if this toy was you instead!

And finally, we have Saya-nee – Leader of NMB48!

Oh! Lawd! How I wish Maa-chun was here to see this!

Saya-nee was a special case. Remember I said she was one of the few that hate everything moe? Well, even though she topped the competition (with Jo) with all the nice scene she came up with, incredibly, she was even more MOE after the skits when she got all embarrassed from the awkwardness of it all!

I mean come on, Saya-nee and MOE are like Oil and Water! I was more shocked that she didn’t break out in tears! I guess she secretly enjoyed being MOE!

Kinoshita’s reaction was spot on there! I found I had to close my gaping mouth as well having witnessed this side of our fearless Leader and Captain!

BTW, Ainyan’s moment of MOE (Didn’t get caps for her – damn me) was when she shared her toothbrush with me since I had lost mine!

Battle 2: Cosplay

  
 

In this round, our girl Kinoshita chose out outfits for the other girls to wear.

First up is Milky. Milky is the always easy going type of person so Kinoshita tried to give her a more serious part as a police girl and by the Gods! I think my heart almost leapt out of my chest there for a moment!

Good job you pervert you Kinoshita!

 

 

In line to Milky is Jo who is dressed up as one of the best known Japanese Legends Hanako ‘Toire no Hanako-san’.

I gotta admit though that she kinda was cute there as Hanako-san. In fact the image fits her perfectly!

And once again, props to Kinoshita. She really is a High Class Otaku…And she’s only like…14!

I feel so inferior as an Otaku! (Oh yes, I am one too).

 
  
 

And then came Saya-baby!

For The Love of GOD!

I know Idols in Japan are SRS Business but come on! There just has to be a like!

Okay, Toda Erika did it as well (in BOSS season 1) but this is Saya-nee we are talking about here people! There are just some things that cross the line and this is one of them!

But I couldn’t stop the laughs that burst out of my throat as much as I fought against them. Even Kinoshita seemed to have seen the error of her ways…NOT!

So apparently, Ainyan always makes fun of Kinoshita for her hobbies (cosplaying) so this was the perfect time to serve her cold dish of revenge – by dressing Ainyan up (along with a coloured wig) as a Chinese girl in Anime.

Hmmm…Actually I always associated Ainyan with China so this fits her perfectly. I guess it’s revenge done right then…

This just wasn’t Haru’s day. I bet she’s gonna have a long conversation with Kinoshita soon afterwards!

Dressed up as a maid, and perfectly fitting I might add, Haru lets us know clearly how much she hates everything cute!

The one who was perfect for the Cosplay contest had to be Mirurun.

I don’t know why I didn’t see it before. The Princess Image, especially those anime loli Princesses, fit her almost too perfectly!

Gods, it’s like she actually crossed dimensions from the 2D world of MiruMiru and into our boring one!

I wanna worship her so bad right now!

Miru-hime (Princess Miru)! This is going to be her nickname from now on!

Kinoshita you Goddess you! You just won yourself a fan…And she isn’t even part of an official team! Promote her right nao Aki-P! Miru-hime commands you!

 

 

And finally, we have Baba Nana, as usual she’s the butt of all the jokes! I mean, Tree-man? WTH?! She’s isn’t even female?!

Oh Kinoshita! You never disappoint!

Even more funny, is that she does every thing so seriously!

Seriously, what an episode! Kinoshita you monster you! I am so stalking you from now on so be prepared! Da~mn…She not only looks cute as well but an Otaku? A great one at that! And she’s apparently a pervert too! My kinda of girl! She really needs more screen time. I hope she gets to shine more thanks to this episode for she definitely grabbed my heart.

 
 

At the end of every episode, the girl that shined most that day is chosen and is given a treat.

This time, with no surprise (since Kinoshita was kinda like a Host) Saya-nee is chosen as the MVP!

Well, I know I will not forget Baby Saya-nee anytime this decade!

And right to the very end she kept on being cute in that ‘Oh God! Someone Make it stop!’ embarrassed kind of way!

I really wish Maachun was present. I know she is going to have a field day with this!
