The Good ~ Haru/Miwa-chan (mostly Miwa-chan)
The Bad ~ Lots
And The Fugly ~ DICK!
Let’s begin with the good;
Opening up with the hospital, Miwa-chan wakes up to only find her mother and no Haru who was away to make a call to his mother and inform her that he might be late getting back. Miwa-chan immediately cries out for Haru is such a voice that I found myself sniffling for many reasons. She clings to Haru’s arms like she is afraid of the closet monster. That moment was so touching I almost….
Miwa-chan reveals that she knew of Haru’s secret even before they met. Her father transferred her into the new school after the board informed him that an IS (Haru) would be attending and wanting his daughter to meet another like herself, he transferred her. he is such a nice Dad. Too bad he has no spine!
Miwa-chan calls Haru up the next morning when she gets discharged from the hospital because she didn’t want to be alone or go home yet. Haru takes her to his home and Miwa-chan gets to meet the lovely Hoshinos. Now all that is left is the proposal and the wedding. She has CAKE and confesses that she knows of Haru’s condition. Miwa-chan is shocked by the way Haru’s family was taking to him being IS. Not quite comprehending this, she thinks that they are just putting on a façade and storms out but Haru immediately runs after her.
Miwa-chan says to Haru that she had first thought him brave when he wanted to tell the world about his true self but now Miwa-chan thinks that he is blessed by being surrounded by people who understand him. He doesn’t know the true face of society yet and so she advise him to not tell the world. As she turns to leave, Haru worried as he was asks her where she is going but she says she’s going home, it was her home after all. But the smile on her face is too sad that Haru takes hold of her hand and walks with her. Miwa-chan is very touched by the gesture and falls even more for her Prince.
Later when she’s sad by the decisions her mother forced for her and is crying in her room, it is Haru’s name she cries out for as she caresses the wrist that Haru had held just a while ago. I think it’s clear that Miwa-chan truly does care for Haru. Haru seems to be able to pull out all her smiles whenever they are together. A smiling Miwa-chan is lovely to see.
And that is all the good, now for the bad…
Miwa-chan only found out a year before that she was IS by accident after telling her mother that she hadn’t had her period yet (even now). It turns out that Miwako was exactly like Haru but unknown to her, she was given surgery to make her a girl when she was little and had been taking female hormone tablets since then thinking they were vitamins.
To make matters even worse, Mother dearest has another surgery appointment soon that is to make Miwa-chan into a complete girl. Miwa-chan cries as she tries to deny the reality of things, that her mother will not acknowledge her just the way she is! her only solace as she cries her heart out is thinking of Haru.
Haru, who at that moment was herself crying in the arms of another! Yep, you guessed it, Dick. But more on Dick later. Having escorted Miwa-chan to her home, Haru decides to tell Miwa-chan’s mother that he is IS too. He disregards Miwako’s warnings who only resigns in despair as her mother sends her away. As Haru turns to leave, mother dearest stops him and tells him that there is no such thing as IS. Cue Haru’s shocked face! Not stopping there, oni mama ordered Haru to stay away from her Miwa-chan. She accuses Haru of being the one who drove Miwa-chan to suicide. Bitch please! Haru leaves looking for all to see like the whipped puppy he actually is.
Worst mother ever!
At school things are getting worse for Haru too. The students are starting to whisper amongst themselves as Haru never changes with the other girls in the girls’ locker-room. Soon the secret will be out and the school wouldn’t want that, nope! Haru is so pissed he does the only thing he could to take the edge off, he plays soccer by himself in the abandoned back alleys. As he kicks the crap out of the poor ball, guess who shows up right at the right moment…
DICK!
I feel sick just looking at these caps!
Who is so conveniently there when Haru is saddened by mother dearest’s harsh words? Dick! Dick who rips off Aizawa-sensei’s shielding of Shiraishi-sensei in Code Blue when Haru cries in the park.
‘Cry all you want, I will shield you from view’ he says. Haru for some reasons leans in even closer and rests her forehead on Dick’s back. And apparently she wants to stay like that forever. While at that exact same time, Miwa-chan who actually has a real reason to cry is crying out for Haru!
I think I’m gonna puke!
And who once again conveniently finds that hidden alley with a once again frustrated Haru in need of comfort? Yep, only Dick!
I thought you’d be beyond these cheesy scenes IS, I hoped!
Anyways, s expected Haru is touched and the two race to the fields while playing soccer like a scene out of a Bella & Edward biography novel! Shit is that skin-crawly. But this is not even scratching the surface. What got me comes next.
1. In the field, not even a few passes are made before klutzy Haru makes his appearance again and falls on his rump.
2. Dick comes to help Haru up and klutzy Haru strikes again by falling into his chest!
3. Haru half’-heartedly tries to break free with some excuses but Dick holds him still and wraps his arms around Haru. the resistance seems to have disappeared as Haru too places her OWN ARMS around Dick’s back.
Excuse me while I go take a handful of pills to fight this nausea down!
You know, all through this, with Haru not seeking out Miwa-chan (I know she was forbade from seeing her but they are at school and could that really stop Haru?) I thought Miwa-chan was absent once again.
So you can understand my shock and pain for Miwa-chan, when she walks into the field, probably looking for avoidy Haru, only to find him in Dicks arms and looking to the world that he actually enjoys it. In fact Haru does enjoy it, even though he is a guy he says!
Poor poor Miwa-chan~
The episode ends here.
Haru, you have some explaining to do!
But there is a guy that I like and that is Haru’s childhood friend. His reaction at first seeing Miwa-chan then thinking that she was Haru’s girlfriend was priceless.

I’ve read your IS posts and i gotta say, you have all of my reactions down to the last word!! XD I knew the “Dick”xHaru pairing was gonna be the official pairing (after reading the manga myself recently), but I’ve ALWAYS shipped MiwaHaru 😀 I thought i was weird in thinking that but thank goodness other people thought this way too ^_^ In the manga, they didnt give as much emphasis to Miwako as they did in the drama, so i’m keeping my fingers crossed for MiwaHaru because the writers made HUGE changes to the story ^_^

Whoa, whoa! Is this true?!!
OMG! Thank you so much whoever is in charge! I have been hoping for this! Ever since I saw the changes done on LIFE’s Manami, I knew Is could too! There is just so much Haru/Miwako for them to just discard it!
Thank you for visiting and commenting dragonflychaser12.
And for the info too. Now I have my resolve to finishing the series strengthened.

I just read all your IS post quickly… I know how you feel T-T
As you said in the very first that IS gives you a “Time Bomb”
I feel it too….
We all know what it’s going to end like but…. just can’t admit it T-T
I love Haru-Miwa too much to just ignore this drama….
I just hope that the end won’t hurt me that much… at least…
IS is too good to not watch it, even Haru-Kenji relationship always hurts me, but Haru-Miwa is so sweet too… So complicate while watching it…

OMG! I just noticed the pattinium@twitter on the side there….
So happy you finally found my hide out layer. And I gotta thank you for making me able to watch this thanks to your tumblr posts. Otherwise, I wouldn’t and I am bitter-sweetily enjoying it.
Also glad I am not the only one to go when the BOMB finally drops!
But we can hope…
Thanks again….

Just curious, what were the changes they made in LIFE? I’m too lazy too look it up, but did it involve change in love interest, personality, anything yuri, and stuff like that compared to the manga?

Well, the drama was more focused on Ayumu and Manami and they did reduce the outside ‘interference’ about the two. by this I mean that Manami was not so blinded by that boyfriend of hers as she was in the manga and Ayumu seemed to be more connected to Manami than the other girl (er, I forgot her name, sorry). Even that CPR kinda kiss was not included!
Then there is that ending where instead of not reconciling and sending Manami off to you know where, instead Manami joined forces with Ayumu (at the very end) and they became a force to fight bullying at their school. Four people against the rest of the school but they had Manami and that girl was teh SHIT, man, I think they had nothing to fear with her on their side!
Well, the drama was much lighter than the manga (obviously) but the main changes to me were that it focused more on Ayumu and Manami.
I read the manga to completion after actually seeing the drama and I very much prefer the drama to the manga even though that kiss was removed but since I was more of a Manami fan, the drama was like a Christmas present!
this probably isn’t that much of a change and to some a waste (that kiss) but to me I was never happier.
