*Best Grad ever – Eh Akarin?*
So I finally got the nerve to watch Akarin’s Graduation Special.
I was not ready!
*Nice Stage*
*Tears*
All the time waiting did nothing at all to decrease the despair that I felt while watching this! It has so much great material to warranty a multiple re-watch but let me tell you that it won’t be happening anytime soon.
My heart cannot take so much emotion that this special is ditching out in quantities.
First I gotta say that this was one concert that once watching this LIVE, you wished with all your might it was once concert you attended in person! For I don’t think there will ever be one such as it, especially for Momoclo. No, for them this will be a concert to remember for it changed things for the group. The impact of Akarin’s leaving realy left a dent in them and a permanent scar. So much so that they went as far as to ban the colour BLUE (Akarin’s colour) and to even change their name to Momoiro Clover Z.
They changed their name!
So if you google Momoiro Clover Z, do not be surprised if you only get the Sentai Five minus Akarin!
Any ways, back to the concert…
They opened up with a Intro Vid where each girl talked about Akarin and then Akarin talking about the girls and what they meant to each other. Already tears were falling.
*You’re looking kind tsundere there Kanako*
These two are the closest in the group. So close in fact that they can read each other’s thoughts – so to speak.
I find their relationship very funny for sometimes Kanako clearly shows how she feels about Akarin who acts all tsundere but when she shows affection to Kanako, it is her that goes all hard to get.
You know, I don’t think that Kanako will ever forgive Akari for leaving. I mean they even made a song about the damn thing and it was performed during the concert by the two as a sub unit ‘Deko-Mayu’. Deko is the nick for Kanako for her large forehead (oDeko) and Akarin is Mayu as in ‘Mayuge’ for her wild eyebrows. Togehter they make Deko-Mayu and they sang about Akarin’s leaving with Kanako expressing her shock and bewilderment while Akarin tries to explain!
I swear they made a song about it!
It’s too bad they decided just then to make a sub unit out of Deko-Mayu. it would’ve been a hit had they done it sooner!
Really…
See how depressing this whole concert was?!
Reni is the comic relief of the group
Momoka is the BAKA chara of the group – even though Kanako is probably the dumbest
Shiori is the imouto chara
Ayaka is the Onee-san of the group
Despite the fact that she is the youngest of the group, Aarin is the most calm and mature of the group which is quite opposite of Reni who is the oldest yet the least confident.
There was so much emotions, so many tears!!
God!
Even before the girls went on stage they were already trying not to cry their makeup off backstage, which was of course a waste of time. They were already in the middle of hiccups as they stepped on stage.
*Tears every where*
Then as the performances started and through to the end when Akarin left ala the Terminator, everyone was crying. You could hear it in their singing and no one even gave a damn. No one tried to not cry! I didn’t mind it a bit and so didn’t the fans. In fact they were crying as well.
I swear it was like a ‘Concert of tears’ or something!
Not all was depair though.
There was some great moments (like 3% or so) like when the Great Mutou Keiji made an appearance and did that legendary pose with the girls.
It was epic!
but there was one who stole the whole show…
*Smooch*
Tagaki Reni.
Reni throws reason to the curb and plants one on Akarin’s mouth. It was actually not that out of place since the mood at the stage was so emotional. But I could not help but worry since I was hoping it would have been Kanako to go over the line so when it was Reni instead, I worried because then Kanako wouldn’t be able to top that short of mounting Akarin right there in front of thousands of fans.
*Bump*
My fears were realised after all when Kanako and Akarin just stood there looking at each other awkwardly then they settled on a simple Bro Fist. Well, I am not complaining since we would’nt have gotten the Bro-Fist otherwise. And besides, the night was still young!
And boy did they deliver.
First was the rehearsal clips which had several moments but I am settling on Akarin/Kanako.
I don’t know if it’s because of the legendary cameraman or what but whenever Kanako and Akarin are in close proximity like hugging or whatever, they just seem like they are doing way more than they are supposedly doing.
I have seen it a lot of times where one can’t help think they are smooching. I saw it in their movie Shirome, I saw it in one of their stage performances during MC when Akarin accidentally hit Kanako in the face with her elbow and was fussing over her. The angle was so strange it looked like she was caressing her face…with her lips! I mean, look at those caps above…it looks like Kanako is necking Akarin or something, right?
Oh ho?
What’s going on there Kanako?
Even more tears.
My heart has never suffered so much!
Practicing the DekoMayu performance. Then checking out the stage hand in hand.
Damn~ Even backstage the force is strong with these two!
But the most awesome moment came much later on…
*In their own little world*
That scene near the end with the goodbyes, especially Akarin and Kanako was just so…
HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
I found myself screaming several times;
KISS HER DAMN YOU!
KISS HER!
I am no lawyer but I bet my everything that I would win the case of Akarin and Kanako having the best chemistry in all Idol Music groups In Japan…ever! in the court.
They were just so…
God!
Quoting the two since they talk about it a lot, even in this special,
“Out of the whole group, they have spend most time with each other than with any other members. They have been together a lot that though they don’t know when it started, they got so close that they almost share the same thoughts – Akarin knows what’s on Kanako’s mind before she even speaks and vice-vasa.”
And then Kanako says it herself (though it was quite obvious during their interviews and concert MCs)
“People say to me all the time that ‘Kanako can’t do anything without Akarin’. They are right. I don’t know what I would do without Akarin.”
Just…
These two…I can just see them meeting up later in the future and going steady!
Oh the fanfic ideas!
I am so buying the DVD for this concert. I want to watch it without the dreaded text from hell!
Bye Bye Akarin….
I am already missing you terribly!

Didn’t know you also like momoclo. Well I got into them after Akarin’s departure so I didn’t really feel the ‘bond’ but man seeing this concert was just painful.

I liked Momoclo, is the best way to put it because unfortunately, I want into them when Akarin was still a member.
She was my Favourite and her and Kanako and their relationship was what kept me there and when she left I was so devastated that even now I am not over it yet.
I am trying to get back into Momoclo Z but this is a very slow process >.<
